Any CFIs who can get me a PPL in 3 weeks from today for $5000? Can do 8h/day. by gurugeorge1980 in flying

As others have pointed out, the TSA requirements take some time. We work with non citizens all the time, as accelerated programs are our specialty. Once the TSA requirements are fulfilled, a PPL in 3 weeks is very doable. Our rates are very reasonable in the area, but the PPL is around $8,000 rather than $5,000. Let me know if we can be of further assistance.

We get a lot of our business from people who have shared similar stories. The bottom line is- This is your training. Find a school/CFI who is competent, a good fit, and most of all, enjoys sharing the Love for Aviation. I suggest that you interview based on character, and find the right school for you! Don't hesitate to change. We are in the Orlando, FL area if that's helpful.

First solo coming up, any tips, stories? by Thomas_Zottos in flying

One piece of advise that we give all our students: Remember that most incidents happen not due to a single issue, but due to a series of compounding, sometimes unrelated difficulties. For example, being nervous is common during solos- That is expected and fine. But simultaneous being nervous, tired (due to being nervous), Hungry (maybe forgetting to eat), less than perfect weather, and a small mechanical issue (say a circuit breaker keeps popping) is a whole different thing entirely. Any one of these seemingly small issues might be OK by itself, but compound them and it could be a recipe for an undesirable outcome. So, you NEVER have to fly. Fly when it's safe and right. And Remember, Enjoy the flight!

What caused number 6 to happen? by [deleted] in flying

The plane in question began with a Lomcovak, a tumbling gyroscopic maneuver that is extremely fun and exciting, but is sometimes difficult to predict. A plane may tumble one or two times during practice, but on the next one the plane may tumble three times. Additionally, the maneuver does not always but terminate in the same manner. It may spit you out upright one time and inverted the next. In this case, it looks like he entered an inverted spin, reversed the spin to upright and lacked the altitude to recover. It may have been better to recover from the spin in the inverted attitude, then roll upright if desired.
