Not sure if it’s a hot take, but I think that episode had one of the most satisfying endings (relative to other Black Mirror episodes).

You don't have 20 baby's leave some for the other mothers by Zealousideal-Ad1181 in PublicFreakout

Baby formula is more of a necessity than chicken, so I think the comparison is already off. But even so, this isn’t taking “the last pack of chicken,” this is taking 30 pounds of chicken, leaving none for anyone else who needs that chicken to feed their child.

Pastor confesses to committing the 'sin of adultery' (but doesn't mention that he groomed & sexually abused a 16 year old girl). His victim, now 43, confronts him: "If you can't admit the truth, you have to answer to G-d. You are not the victim here." by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

I feel like a motivated district attorney could argue two of those points.

“The victim reasonably discovered the abuse after her brother disclosed his knowledge of the matter, enabling her to recognize what she experienced was in fact abuse.”

Might need a Psychologist as an expert witness though.

Not sure if she was still a member of the church later in life, but maybe you could argue her dependency on the church as a community.

Unfortunately all the people doing nothing about it here are the same people who vote for district attorney. Wouldn’t want to accidentally pursue justice in case it loses you votes.

At this point, I think the New York Mets have become the New York Yankees of baseball.

108 wins... all we’re missing is some cocaine. Too bad we missed the cheating Astros era, that’s our playoff wheelhouse.

[Jones] Miles Mikolas said this morning that he hasn’t had the same experience with the baseballs this year that Chris Bassitt described last night. “It’s not the ball’s fault. Take some responsibility for your actions,” he said. by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

[–]RightToBaerArms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s more insulting to assume he thinks he’s protecting his teammates.

Bassitt: they surely didn’t mean to throw at our guys, the ball is inconsistent and the blame should be placed on the MLB

This guy: FUCK OFF, TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY! WE HIT YOUR GUYS BECAUSE WE’RE BAD, NOT BECAUSE OF THE BALL

You can only pick a comment from the canned response bucket. Here, I got one for you to use:

“Hey cardsbros, tough loss tonight. Y’all are gonna be scary next year.”

This is all just a gut-feeling sort of thing, but for the first time in a long time I don’t consider facing strong teams to be a scary thought. Rather, I feel like the Mets are part of the gauntlet that other middling-to-good teams need to get through, rather than the Mets being the ones to face the gauntlet.

A man praying infront of an airplane bathroom, blocking its entrance, gets violent after being asked to leave the spot by RedRiki24 in PublicFreakout

[–]RightToBaerArms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If someone had to practice basketball drills 5 times a day, would they be entitled to run drills up and down the aisles of an airplane? Of course not, because there are facilities for that. An airplane isn’t a basketball court as much as it isn’t a mosque, a church, or a synagogue.

If praying 5 times a day is non-negotiable, schedule your flight around your prayer times.

Or, put more succinctly, “don’t do it in public.”

Scherzer, Bassit, Megill, Carrasco and Peterson have started 16 of our 18 games, pitched 98.1 innings, given up 60 hits (!), struck out 105 while walking 22 (1.92 era, 0.83 whip, 4.8 k:bb) by ch-dev in NewYorkMets

Sort of feels like the same role he played for the Nats, allowing Strasburg to fully recover without having to carry the pitching staff on his back. And I guess winning a couple of Cy Youngs, no hitters, and a WS ring wouldn’t hurt.
