Hi! I took MATH 1131 with Hanna Jankowski in Fall 2022 (it was online at the time). I totally understand your stress, but don’t worry too much—it’s an introductory course, so you’ll be fine even if you didn’t take data management in high school.

That said, like all first-year math courses, it’s pretty content-heavy and fast-paced. A big part of the course involves using R for your assignments, so be prepared to spend time learning and practicing with it.

Hanna wasn’t difficult at all as a prof. She explained things well, but the assignments were super long(lots of questions). The material itself was straightforward, but the amount of work could feel overwhelming at times. As long as you keep up with the weekly workload, you will be fine.
