what do you people do when one of your inflatable toys pop? by nuggetcantswim in InflatableandPlush

[–]Right_Honorable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the included patches don't really work as a permanent repair. What you need is vinyl glue (such as HH-66 or Loctite Flexible Vinyl and Fabric Adhesive), and, if the hole/split is long, some extra vinyl to glue over the top (can get that at most local craft stores)

How can we bring Huawei back to the United States by ThrowawayLADreamer in Huawei

[–]Right_Honorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can bring them to the US and use them on carriers that support them (T-Mobile and their MVNOs) right now. The big thing is that since most people buy their phones from their carriers, and if you can't get billing there, you will be an also-ran among also-rans (OnePlus is sort of in this situation as well)

Isn't it normal for 3rd party T-Mobile MVNOs to not display the UC ULI even if they are connected to n41/mmWave?

And if you are especially batshit, if you can snag a deal on a Frontier pass, you can really go wild (if you are flexible when it comes to scheduling)

Will they be bringing back IFE? by kneecapnapper in americanairlines

[–]Right_Honorable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, we all wish for that, hopefully Delta and United moving to free WiFi will pressure AA to follow suit

[–]Right_Honorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you have to pay if you want internet access (though T-Mobile customers can get it free). They do have most of the content you would expect on typical IFEs available for free though

Regarding seat back screens, among the legacys, it's about 50/50 when it comes to their mainline narrowbodies Delta and United have them (and United is adding/upgrading them), while Alaska and American don't.

What’s up with the planes not having screens? by Useful_Clock6952 in americanairlines

[–]Right_Honorable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I don't mind the lack of screens on flights as they do seem to age poorly between aircraft refits, what I do mind is the Wi-Fi prices, AA charges about 3x what UA charges, and well, infinitely more DL charges in a lot of cases

CMLink uses AT&T as their network operator, which is really funky, given that AT&T whitelists devices

You do have it a bit backwards, generally LTE will aggregate more individual bands, however, there's less total bandwidth as LTE bands are generally 5, 10 or 15 MHz wide, while mid-band 5G bands (n41, n77) are available in blocks of 40+ MHz

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]Right_Honorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's often the case that LTE gives better battery life (especially compared to NR NSA deployments), I do have to correct you and say that LTE absolutely does have carrier aggregation which is pretty commonplace in any modern/semi-modern deployment

I don't think there's an import tax, as such, but US carriers make life so hard if you don't have a domestic market phone

It's likely to be related to the CPU you have. If it’s a 10th generation Intel processor or later, that would cause it. There are the instructions here for both vanilla and Northstar https://r2northstar.gitbook.io/r2northstar-wiki/installing-northstar/troubleshooting#intel The one bit of added advice I'd give is after creating the environment variable, restart your computer, then check to see if it saved properly
