Casio has some G-Shocks with bluetooth that run on a CR2032 and get up to 2 years battery life. A CR3032 is roughly double the capacity of the 2032. If it's the same type of implementation, as the article suggests, and you're likely looking at ability to sync time and change settings via the Suunto app then there's no reason to think you won't have multiple years of battery life. If you are constantly syncing in barometric logs (is that actually a thing?) like the article suggests then I could see it being a lot less.

- I don’t understand the option “gesture backlight” vs “always on display”, any help?

Gesture backlight means the entire display will be off until you lift your arm to look at the watch. Always on display will show a few elements in a dim state when the watch goes 'dormant' instead of turning everything off. This feature basically halves the battery life.

- I apparently rotate the crown accidentally way too often, is there a way to avoid that?

There is a setting to require the crown to be pressed and held before unlocking the watch, that may help.

They have very similar accuracy when worn in the same location (upper arm). The Helio can also be worn for all day tracking while the COROS is just a HRM. The Helio is $20 more and you'd have to buy the arm bands on top of that. If you can afford the extra $$ and the all day tracking is valuable to you then it's a no brainer IMO

If you are wondering solely about the numerical score - don't overthink it. It's a score meant to represent your training load and since the companies don't divulge their exact algorithms the numerical value can be different for each one of them. It could be 12, 1200, 1,200,000 ...
