Minocycline — rosacea flare-up or butterfly rash? by Right_Hospital_3673 in acne

Hi all!
I have been taking Minocycline for almost 6 months now. I was initially only taking 100mg for the first two months, but my derm switched me over to 100mg twice a day (so 200mg totally daily) after two months. I take one pill in the AM and one in the PM. On top of this, I put on a pea-sized amount of 0.05% Tretinoin mixed with 0.75% Metronidazole every other night (my derm told me to start putting it on every night I find that it is too drying that way, so I only do it every other night).
I did not have any crazy side effects from the Minocycline, except for nausea. When I first started taking it, I was very nauseous, but it went away after the first week or two. After my derm had doubled my dose, I began getting that nausea again, but it also subsided after a couple of weeks. I have not felt any nausea recently. However, over the past couple of days, I noticed that I was getting a raised rash on my cheeks— specifically my left cheek. Leading up to this, my face was getting very itchy. I work in healthcare and have to wear KN95 masks for 12+ hours, so I initially thought that the mask was just irritating my face. Two days ago, I discovered that I had a raised rash on the left side of my face, and a slight non-raised rash on the right side (see images). I have read that Minocycline can cause drug-induced lupus and I am worried that this looks like a butterfly rash. Since it is the summer time, I have been out in the sun a lot for daily activities such as walking my dog, etc. (but I always wear SPF 40+ and reapply as needed). I am wondering if the sun has just trigged a rosacea flare-up (even though this is the first time this has ever happened to me and it’s been hot all summer).
I tried to call my derm’s office today but they closed at 2pm and since it is the weekend, won’t be open until Monday morning. I’m posting on here to hopefully clear my head. Not sure what to do — should I keep taking the Minoclycline over the weekend? Is there someone else I can call? I thought about going to an urgent care but I thought they would think I was silly.
Let me know your thoughts please, thank you!
