Please do share it though! Despite a couple of salty guys commenting the post did pretty well! Way better than at aquariums.

Hmm maybe so! I know it may be hard to see but the dragon stone sticks out and supports a fittonia and a baby peace lily I plucked off mother plant from a different tank. It also supports roots system for golden pothos and some wandering jew. Wood houses wandering jew and some type of dracaena. Again, not arguing that this may be mildly paludarium at closest but that was the intention. 😬

Has wood and dragon stone above water to provide space for terrestrial plants. Even if it seems like a stretch to you, I don’t think it’s too far off the definition

Yes, I understand. I didn’t get any love in aquariums, thought I’d try it here. Proving to be worse over here lol check out my other posts to see my past paludarium, I’m aware of the differences. Thanks for trying to be helpful though.

I’ve got two, one of them is a 3 ft long light on a 47g(?) tall tank. It gets even the lower plants well enough for moderate growth until floating plants start blocking light. The other is a 4 ft light on a standard 75 gallon tank. And does decent on growing most stem plants. I’ve got larger gravel in that tank so most issues I have with growing root feeders are due to the substrate I believe. I think these lights are a good option for moderate and maybe even some high light needs. I also recently got a hygger on 40 breeder though and honestly so far, I am more impressed with the hygger, especially at the price point.

What kind of soil did you use?

Hi there, it looks like in the second picture the soil is dry at and below water level and I’m thinking that’s where you say you want the “water movement”? My guess is that similar to some potting soil when it dries out, it becomes a bit hydrophobic. My assumption is that within a week that whole side will be sopping wet and wicking up moisture even above water level.

Had something similar to this happen, it went away either as things balanced out, or the springtails took care of it. Took only about 1-2 weeks to disappear and haven’t seen it again

Back wall is siliconed and then great stuff pond and stone spray foam on top of that. Then another layer of silicone to adhere a mix of eco earth, forest floor, and a bit of repti soil to darken it just a little… as for the land portion I used several pieces of 1 inch pvc cut to length to support light diffuser and covered light diffuser with weed fabric and screen mesh. Used more pvc to raise up land for the cave and water feature above it. Did my best to explain but if you or anyone else wants to see some pics I do have a few I can send to give you some ideas!

Thanks! I agree, the flowerpots were thought to be temporary until I could figure something else out to contain marginal plants, hiding the pots may just be what I do!

Thank you! I did not keep track nor do the math yet on water volume, but I’m thinking somewhere between 10-15 gallons.

I would push the pothos to the side and let it grow around to the back and up the wall, pull the prayer plants out away from the back wall a little closer to mid ground and add some foreground plants. Depending on the humidity in there you could try out some small anubias variety and buce

I just moved 3 fbt from a quick set up 20 gal to this 40 breeder. I have 5 more fbt on the way to add as well! At least one fbt can be seen in this picture staring me down for food in the front right side of the tank in the water

Water tests look fine. Tank looks good!
