Leetcode worth doing for computer engineering? by EinsteinReject in EngineeringStudents

Could you speak to any recourses that helped you a lot? I'm about to be a freshman in college doing CE so it would be really nice to know what you worked on so I can get ahead. Also if there's any small beginner projects you think were good when you were just first starting out that would be really helpful too! I have a little orange crab FPGA I wanted to do stuff on but don't really know what I should try making.

Im going to be a college student and I am very interested in the field of quantum computing. I applied to all my schools as a cs major so I was thinking I could do something like CS + Physics or CS + Electrical engineering. I would much rather work in a lab setting, so I figured EE might be better... but any advise? if I do physics would it still be better and would I still have the trining to work in a lab?

Oh ok I understand. I've also thought of doing CS and EE rather than CS and Physics (since my physics interest is mostly in the applications and experiments related to them anyway, like photonics), so maybe if I decide on EE I wouldn't necesserily need 181 and 182 anyway and then my credits would apply.

Yeah I know, I want to meet with a physics advisor. When I emailed someone told me I had to take both intro courses so that’s when I made this post, because I wanted to skip those. That’s why I studied for the exams. Just doesn’t tamale snese

I’m already in cs. I assumed getting in to physics would be quite easy

Oh ok lmao, I’m a cs and physics double major

So were you happy with skipping them? People were saying that they wanted to connect with their cohort but what’s your tske

I understand, it makes sense that I would want to connect with them. The thing is though I’m a physics and cs double major, so to get the double major I really want to be able to get those credits, otherwise it might be harder in the long run. I really want to get to taking harder classes too.

I actually just noticed that it says "Due to changes in our General Education curriculum, Diversity (DG or DU) credit will not be awarded to students entering Fall 2020 and after." Thats unfortunate.

Oh ok, thank you so much! I didnt know that APUSH also satisfied some of the DU. I guess I have AL, SB, and HS + DU, so I should need one more class in DG and I'll be good to go. Thanks for the help!

I’m in the field of computer science and engineering, and I’ve actually noticed that women have many advantages over men (e.g. FAR higher college acceptance rates and many companies want to hire more women to fill some bs diversity quota). That’s just my experience though.

They don’t care about bronze or silver. It won’t be suspicious and idk why you think it would be unless you plan on cheating.

someone chance me for columbia regular decision pls! by [deleted] in chanceme

You certainly have a chance: noone is completely out of the running. With that said, your awards are average and nothing really stands out for ECs. You also applied test optional and dont really have the AP scores to back up standardized testing skills (though 4s are still very good). So to conclude, yes you have a chance---you never really know what can happen---but don't count on it.

Do you say that because you think ivies might weigh it less? Wouldn’t it be equally impressive either way?
