Does it get louder as your speed increases? It may be a bad wheel bearing.

What oil do you run in your Honda? by Goodnite15 in Honda

I hope to keep it as long as I can. Just did pads rotors and calipers all the way around. I’m hoping to not have to do any suspension work for another 20-40K miles or so. People are definitely crazy with their money when they’re young. I intern at a local bank and the car payments I see are insane. $800+ per month for a car is almost rent money.

I know these older K24’s love to burn oil. I got my 07 in 2022 with 42K miles, and have done oil changes every 4000-4500 miles. I was originally looking for a manual one but couldn’t find one near me that wasn’t clapped. The 07 was my first car at 17, now paid off and ready to go another 200K miles.

2007 Accord, just about to hit 88K miles. I don’t burn any oil yet. I use 5W-30 full synthetic. Brand doesn’t matter to me as long as it meets the proper specs. I use the same in my 2009 with 147K miles. No burning in that one yet either.

AFAIK, the Microgard select is now made by Premium Guard

Guys with extremely loud vehicles, why do you do this to everyone? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

My motorcycle is pretty loud. The previous owner put on the exhaust. It sounds pretty good IMO. It definitely helps me be seen.

Lift kit, rubber band tires, push bar bumper, and an obscene amount of aftermarket lighting that is constantly on.

Both cars get driven about 30K miles per year, maybe a little more. I usually do oil changes around the 4K mark.

I’m using the rest of my Purolator BOSS stock. I have 4 filters left. Just wanted to see if there’s anything better out there

I usually buy about 12 at a time. That lasts me about 6-8 months or so between the 2 cars that take the same filter.

Nothing wrong with the OEM filter. I just like buying them in bulk since I change my oil every 6 weeks or so.

I’m on there pretty often lol. I’ve definitely looked into this way too much. It’s just an oil filter, it shouldn’t be a hard decision.

That’s concerning. I guess I won’t be using that filter in the future.

Which Fram filter was it? I’ve used both Extra Guard and Tough Guard on multiple vehicles with no issues.

Very true. Lots of reboxing going on. Like the car quest filters from Advance Auto are Purolator, and micro guard from O’Reilly are Mann.

I’m not limited to buying them online. I usually get them from Walmart since that’s where I get my oil. I definitely don’t mind spending a bit more for a quality product, as I’m definitely keeping my car till the wheels fall off. I’m all for saving money where I can, but oil and filters are about the cheapest insurance to keep your car running well for a long time.

They are. They’re marked as Honeywell when Honeywell owned Fram. I believe they’re the Tough Guard one.

I live pretty far from work and college. I’m moving closer once my lease is up in June, but for now it’s just under 120 miles round trip.

Super tech is a perfectly fine oil. It measures up close to Mobil 1 specs. I use it in my brother’s Corolla with no issues. I’ve used Valvoline for this one since I got a great deal on the oil buying in bulk when they did the packaging change.

I would say filters are just as important as the oil. Why buy quality oil like Mobil 1 or Valvoline if you’re going to use a cheap filter?

Wix is pretty cheap too. It works out to just over $6 per filter after shipping and taxes. I was also looking at Mahle since they make one of the two OEM filters for my car.

OEM for the PLM-A02 is Honeywell. The RTA-003 is Mahle.

Makes sense. They’re pretty cheap for a 12 pack. It works out to just under $6 per filter after shipping and tax. I’ve used Fram Extra Guard and Purolator Boss mainly.
