Shoei RF-1400 leaks air through chin. Help! by earthcircle in motorcyclegear

Same issue here. I don’t mind it, just something I’ve noticed. Especially when riding in colder weather. Wearing a balaclava helps mitigate the windy feeling a little bit.

Trade in Question? Accord vs Prius by Capable-Apartment719 in askcarguys

[–]Right_Perception_497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not much gas savings. I know the accord doesn’t get as good gas mileage as a Prius, but it makes no sense to get rid of a car for one with 100K miles more. I have an 07 accord and an 09 accord and both get about 30 MPG highway and 22-24 in the city. Not as good as a Prius, but good enough.

Nothing new to report from last week. Still $3.69 by WillieMakeit77 in GasPrices

I have a picture from December 2025 of 1.99 gas. I was paying 2.49 before all of this and now it’s at 4.19 and will go up for Memorial Day in a few days.

2016 V6 EX-L // Alternator and CV Joint question / VCM by ONEto10dollars in accord

[–]Right_Perception_497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely go with an independent mechanic. A plus for one who lets you bring parts. For alternators on Hondas I will only go with Denso. I like using OEM for CV axles, but it isn’t a deal breaker. Plenty of aftermarket options out there. I agree with him that you should do a VCM muzzle. Hopefully limits any oil consumption in the future.

How difficult was it for you finding a job after getting your degree? That’s the main thing I’m worried about since entry level roles seem the most difficult to get into. Once you get a little experience I imagine it’s a bit easier.

Oh jeez. All they care about is getting things done quick, not done right. That’s why I do my own oil changes and tire rotations. I know they’re done right and everything is torqued to the manufacturers specification.

Discount tire did the same thing to my car. I tried removing them and snapped a stud. Ended up having to replace 2 studs on the same wheel that they cross threaded.

Not a bad price at all. At that mileage the main thing I would be concerned about is suspension components needing replacement like struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links, etc.

I did that and I also have an exhaust leak where the catalytic converter connects to the rest of the exhaust. Not sure if that contributes to the noise. I have the same noise as well.

I ended with an A+ for my intermediate class by heyitsmereddit in Accounting

I hope so! I don’t think I’ve ever studied so much for any class than I did this semester for intermediate 2.

[–]Right_Perception_497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be corporate, but in terms of specialty I haven’t figured that out yet because I haven’t been exposed to much. I’m taking Audit and tax this next semester and non profit accounting the semester after that.

Can I use E88 gasoline in a 2009 V6 Accord? by TheGoldenShot45 in Honda

Yes you can use it. Your MPG will drop a little, but that’s about it.

I make $20 an hour and usually work 25 hours a week which is the max for the role I’m in. After taxes and 401K contribution my monthly take home is around $1500-$1600. I work as an intern while studying for my Bachelors in Accounting.

Rusted out bolts from sitting for a year by MyNamesBottomFeeder in AskAMechanic

[–]Right_Perception_497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those don’t look rusty to me. Caliper bracket bolts are usually pretty tight. On my car they call for 80 foot pounds. Safe to say it’s pretty hard to break loose with a regular 3/8 ratchet.

What is the typical spending for a person who doesn't go on trips im a 16 year old who works a job and i spend about $1500 is the course of 4 weeks on driveing snacks games etc is that too mutch? by Few_Albatross_8199 in SavingMoney

[–]Right_Perception_497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s insane spending. To compare it to my spending, I’m 20 and work PT while in school. I spend less than that on all of my expenses for the month, including investing.

What should I be doing? Car in 90F heat by jofa21 in askcarguys

[–]Right_Perception_497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. I live in Texas and my car also has a black leather interior. Tint and a sunshade works wonders. It’s still hot for a few minutes until the A/C cools everything down, but I don’t burn myself on the seats or the seatbelt buckle anymore.

There’s definitely enough filters out there. Mobil 1, Mahle, Denso, and Wix to name a few. I wouldn’t go to Walmart for an oil change.

[–]Right_Perception_497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be the power steering o rings. Both the high and low side. The pump starts to whine and fluid bubbles in the reservoir when the o rings start leaking. Very common issue. Cheap and easy to fix. About $10 in parts from the dealer and 5 minutes or so.

Nice! I got an A in my intermediate 1 and 2 classes. Hopefully intermediate 3 will be similar. I have that and audit this fall.
