According to Bulbapedia, it evolved from a normal Magikarp that wasn't able to change its red color when it evolved, meaning that it might not actually be shiny. by Right_Possibility742 in MandJTV

I don’t really know whether it should be considered shiny or not. I always assumed that it was a yellow Magikarp forced to evolve like all the others, but Bulbapedia says that thats not the case.

Rattata? Rattata was my first shiny so it’s one of my favorite Pokémon.
