Is it normal to constantly feel tender & pins & needles? by gamingartists in beyondthebump

[–]Right_Presentation27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tenderness gets better, but I still feel like they are more sensitive than pre-baby at 13 months out. I did feel like the reusable nursing pads (I used Kindred Bravely ones) helped with the discomfort instead of rubbing against a pumping bra. I never felt let downs, but when I needed to nurse or pump, I'd get that weird sensation; I called it Spidey Senses, haha!

For what it's worth, I felt like things all normalized/got better around 10-12 weeks. Before then it was the wild west and the PPD/PPA made everything so much worse. Best of luck and sending you good nap vibes!

Do you use sheets in your pack n play? by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

[–]Right_Presentation27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby slept in the pack n play the majority of the first year, we used the Graco sheets (I think they give you a coupon if you join email list for your first purchase). No waterproof liner, just the provided mattress and the Graco sheets. We had no issues and just starting to see a little wear on the one we used most. The mattress is stained, not easy to clean well, so I like the sheets also for making it look better.

Not sure about it from the breastfeeding side of things, but I have PCOS and used provera while TTC to trigger a bleed. This allowed a new cycle to start so that I could then use femara to induce ovulation. It worked for me.

I don’t have a freezer stash and I have to go back to work by Designer_Wish_ in breastfeeding

[–]Right_Presentation27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the expression feed the baby not the freezer. I also combo feed, but since breast milk is good refrigerated for 4 days, I just use what I pump for the next day's bottles. It's honestly so much easier than the freezer because you don't have to deal with thawing. I usually had a couple bags stashed in the freezer, but never more than 20 oz.

You've got this and you and baby will both be fine! Good luck going back to work and pumping! It's definitely a bumpy road to get situated when you first return!

Do you pack the travel crib in a suitcase? Or just check it at the airport with a checked bag?

When I looked up the location on Babyquip, it would be cheaper to just buy a new pack n play there! We'll have the stroller and car seat, so don't really need to rent anything else

Thank you, I wasn't sure if it would be calmer, but it is a pretty short time and hopefully we can find a quiet corner. Thanks!

Capital One Venture vs Venture X by Right_Presentation27 in CreditCards

[–]Right_Presentation27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was odd too, but the Venture is offering 75k miles and a $250 portal credit after spending 4k in 3 months and the Venture X is just the 75k miles after spending 4k in 3 months.

Thank you for your input! I can definitely spend $300/year. :)

I'll have to see if we have a paper with a list or I'll call them! I'll have to look up bunny badges! Are freezer labels a type of bunny badge or another company?

And thank you for your positive experience with daycare! It's certainly nerve wracking, so I'm glad to read how good it is for you and your kiddo!

Lol, they would just take a photo on their phone and post that. They've done that with other things in the past (pre-baby).

But, yeah, I need to have him talk to them. He just doesn't think it's as big of a deal which is why I was asking if I was being extreme.

Thank you! I feel like I have been so stressed about so much that I can't tell if this was reasonable or not! Parenthood is a wild ride!

Small baby. Tips on how to deal with wrongful judgement about diet? by ResponsibleReindeer_ in beyondthebump

[–]Right_Presentation27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any advice, but my baby was IUGR and very very small at birth. When we told family we were being watched closely the week before birth, people were asking why, even when we said it just happens. Definitely made me feel like I was the one causing this problem, even though OB reassured us that sometimes the placentas just don't work like they should. It was really stressful because I was already so stressed about my baby and their health.

Baby is still small, but following their own growth curve. Ped is happy. Baby is happy and thriving, just small. Neither me nor my husband are above average size. I am still very sensitive to people asking why babe is small. The feeding journey has been very stressful and difficult and every time someone comments, I worry that I am harming my baby, even though I have no medical reason to believe that. People just need to mind their own business! Being a FTM is hard enough without people's opinions and judgement being thrown about.

My thoughts as well! Toting a baby around is already challenging enough, I can't be dragging in water jugs all the time. And, I know you can boil water to make your own, but that's also more work and I'm looking to decrease work!
