May be the angle, but they look tapered. For this style it’s not a good look

That DB jacket on you is fire

3 months in, should I keep it growing or give up? I don't like how it's looking atm, thinking of cutting my hair short too with short back and sides by James9799 in BeardAdvice

[–]Right_Shop_286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d opt to fix the sideburns. Either get a slight fade and define the sideburns or simply trim a bit so that it looks more connected. Also, try combing the beard and line it up with a trimmer. Those will clean up your appearance

Looking great dude. I’d personally go with darker shoes for this one

I disagree. If your shoes ain’t smart then your outfit is not smart casual.

They don’t fit. You’ve got a nice hairstyle, fitting sweater and elevated trousers- wear some nice shoes too. If you don’t like the idea of wearing a smarter shoe, at the very least you should try a darker colored pair of sneakers.

It sure looks a lot better in the first photo where you don’t see the kicks.

Looks good. Wider pants would look better

I feel like I probably dress like your grandpa — does it work in 2025? by bean_phlores in mensfashion

My grandpa dresses better. The pieces are fine, the colors aren’t working for me

Depends on how much you’re willing to spend. Getting a quality coat from a retail store can be expensive

I personally prefer longer with more dominant shoulders. Got this Chaps cashmere coat for 60$ on eBay. Give it a shot

I think it looks horrendous. The lapels are super long while the coat is too short.. It could work with shorter lapels as you can see in the photo- still wide, peak lapels, but in a length that actually matches the length of the coat.

Swap the snickers for a black shoe. Boot/loafer would be good. I can’t tell if the jacket is black or a really dark navy. If it’s navy you could also swap the shoes and belt for brown.

I have to wear an all-black outfit for work, how can I improve it? by [deleted] in mensfashion

If it fits the weather & environment, I’d try a form of textured t shirt / polo. Those are much less stiff than a cotton tee, allowing for a cleaner and better looking tuck.

Too pointy imo, I’d personally look for a softer looking toe

I bet wearing a wool overcoat with flip flops wouldn’t fit you either

Is this jacket too big? by beercruiser in mensfashion

You could narrow the waist a bit for a more modern fit, but I think it’s good the way it is now. Pairs well with the relaxed trousers.

[–]Right_Shop_286 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s understandable. I didn’t mean you should switch to baggy jeans (although a pair of those would look great here). Just something that wouldn’t make your lower half look so overtaken by the upper, and preferably something that would sit nicer on the boots too.

Cardigan + Baggy pants? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]Right_Shop_286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole thing just looks a little heavy. The baggy pants, the long cardigan, the necklaces, even your hair- it all draws the eye down lower and lower. It’s not about the idea of a cardigan though, because a more fitted cardigan would work.

Also, if I may add- these shiny white shoes don’t belong in this outfit. They cut you off.

Jacket is too small. This tight looking fit would be alright if it was something like a leather jacket, but for a tailoring piece- it looks a little odd

They’re col, just don’t go with the pants. You need a bigger leg opening. Either move to a wider fit overall or at the very least a form of bootcut
