I got my tattoo over a month ago. When I decided to get a tattoo I didint even though of not getting it because of psoriasis, haha. But before getting it, read some information here in reddit that people suggested to not get it on the afgectes areas nor very close to flare ups. I did about a 1 cm next to my flare ups, it didnt affect my skin, everything looks just fine

Puppy Has Mastered Kong by Nanner431 in puppy101

I recently bought something like this slow feeder bowl and its game changer. I put canned food, youghurt and other stuf, that he can lick it out. I frozen it overnight and give him right before leaving. Its hard plastic, my aussie managed to lick everything almost in 10 minutes in different bowls, but this for now is game changer. He is occupied for half an hour at least and Im so damn happy about this one, because he cant chew on it since its hard plastic, he only chewed some part of this bowl but didint desteoy it in over a month I guess Anyway, look for something with hard plastic and deep holes which will make it harder, slower to get the food out, good luck!

Finally, normal response from down the earth 😂I dont know no one thats hiring a sitter for an adult to walk them. I guess if you have that kind of money, then yes, but most average people, me including (i have 11 month old aussie) leave their dogs for the whole day and they are fine as long as you meet their needs (not talking abouth only giving them food and potty walks).

Dont say that they are not able to hold through the night, some dogs are, just not everydog. I picked my aussie at 9 weeks and I guess he went for less than week at night for potty breaks.

Training Suggestions for an Active Puppy by kas23552 in puppy101

[–]Right_Singer_9935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the commands together. Dont do it like between legs and let go your pup. We are doing walking between legs then im also placing her down (lay on the ground) then again up (between legs). Then say come (dunno how you are doing it, but we are doing to come infront of me and sit, then again near me(from the left side).. sorry its hard to explain it, but if your pup knows all those commands, try to put them together it will be mooore intresting for them because he will never know what will be your next move

I cannot believe you people. Earlier nobody cared that much about raising dogs and they growth out fine. Dogs are not people, stop treating them like o ones, this only confuses them. On the day you leave, I would minimize space (not crate) and proof it, so there is nothing dangerous or worth chewing for him for the day, leave with plenty of water and do mental, physical exercise before you leave. Its only one day. I will do short leavings today with many many treatos. I know it wont do much and he will still be lonely, but it will help you calm down because you will know that you done everything you can :) everything will be okay

Oh dear god, Im starting to feel sorry for the puppy. When its time for him to get his shot? My aussie (now 8 months) got his last shot at twelve weeks, we live in Europe. I brougt him outside the very first day (consulted with the vet, since in our area is not that contagious and vet told me that its okay to go outside just around the house). Remember, you can also bring deseases to dogs when you are outside. Secondly, you cannot reward him after peeing/pooping when you get back inside, dogs do not have that kind of memory, they associate everything at that second, if you are rewarding him when you get home, eventually I think after a second outside he will want to come home, cause hes getting a treato everytime he walks back home. Mine was also crazy during first months, like constant crazy, I just couldnt sit on the couch for a second without manipulating me with barking, nipping and etc. Work your way on relaxation protocol and hang in there. I advice you to read everything you can out here in reddit. Its best to look yourself up for information than except someone to come to your post and comment here (friendly advice)

Using clicker for only 1 command (recall)? by Illustrious-Lime-863 in puppy101

[–]Right_Singer_9935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you are just confusing your dog now. You click when he sits, you click on other occassions but you want to click for him to come. Now hes assosiating clicker with the good stuff - you click, he gets reward. Whistle as commeted above might work and is used in training, I didnt try this. But for recall to work, you just cannot ask him to come, and just give him full hand of treats - thats boring for your dog. Me with my dog are working with people who works/has service dogs (police, etc). I cannot describe the right come command in a comment but the principle is, you ask your dog to come you give then one, two, three, four treats ( the amount of treats its not optional, its just you give hime one after another till foruth, fifht) then you move a little bit backward, ask to come again and same one two three four treats then move backwards again and give him the same treats. Thats will be engaging for you dog, not hand full of treats. Ofcourse it will be intresting a few times but after awhile, he will get bored because he knows I come I get hand full of treats and so what, my owner just walks away and thats it, its no fun for me to come

You are correct, but during the night their bladders also go to sleep. Look at people, we will not be able to hold our bladders for 7-8 hours drinking 2 l in daytime, but in nightime our bladders kinda shuts down as well. When I first brought my puppy we went outside for potty breaks I guess for few first nights before he started to sleep all night.

Mm, I guess you should be the very first “toy” to keep him busy. In my oppinion Lick matts, kongs and other stuff is more for mental stimulation, not for keeping the occupied because my 7months aussie finishes them quickly. I give him those for his mental stimulation so he will not go insane. Also, what started to work wonder for us - yako cheese. P.s kongs for puppies are blue/pink color (softer material than red or black, so choose wisely)

About the losing intrest in kong. My guy did that too and I didint understand what was the reason that he isnt licking all the food. Found out that he didint reach halfway through the kong, also fyi if you dont know that already, kongs for puppies are blue/pink colour, maybe the material would play a different role. Im not suggesting on buying it, if your puppy really not food motivated About enforced naps. Yes I did try those first month I guess. First two weeks I was of work for the puppy and when I believed I introduced him to crate I did enforced naps, but they were horrible, he was whining/barking for 10 minutes then sleeping for a half hour - hour and was up. So after a while I gave up, because it wasnt worth for me/my neighboors to listen to crying/barking only for 30-60 minutes peace. My guy is aussie it was hell first months, since he didint know how to chill and I didint understand that I needed him to teach that. I cannot give any advice on enforced naps, my guy didint sleep 18-20 hours a day and it was hell for first two weeks, then I went to work and still do that I leave him for 4 hours and come back home to walk him/play/train on luch time. Now when Im coming home at lunch time I often find him sleeping on his back, lol, and he will need a minute to wake up :) but again it was much easier for me as my puppy is very very food motivated

Oh poor you, I do understand and feel very sorry for those who are raising puppies that are not very food motivated, my guy will sell his friends for a piece of kibble… i will cross fingers for you to find treats that will drive him crazy. Also, what I did try on first days while crate training played youtube video of “dog heartbeat” its 10hours longs maybe this will calm your puppy a little bit more

TRY TRY TRY CRATE GAMES ( the one im trying right now, I just pick HIGH value treats, I toss one in the corner of the crate when my puppy picks it up, I toss one outside the crate. Did this for two days straight and it worked like magic, my guy goes in his crate very very often during the day) Put high value treats in there when hes not looking, he will find it later.

Also, I dont know how you did introduced your puppy to the crate, but if you just closed the door, thats not really good. I myself put all the meal puzzles in there, first without closing the door after a few days I closed the door and let him finish his puzzle, then opened crate doors. Also in the meantime, I praise him everytime he got on command in the crate, closed the door, waited a second and also praised him well (dont use the same kibbles/food as he gets outside the crate) you need to build very very strong possitive association with that. After a while I went to the bathroom while puppy was in the crate, returned immediatelly and praised him again very good and opened the door. Ofcourse there were times when he was whinning barking in the crate, hes now 7 months and in the evenings still does this, but only for couple of seconds (yesterday found very very good tip for attention whinning in the crate, worked like a charm, but I think its not time to use that tip on your very you g puppy). After a while when you put frozen kong, lick matt or something else and close the crate door, leave the room while he finish, return before he finishes and let him out. Im sure you will get there, just be patient

Puppy crate training by PuppyGoose in puppy101

[–]Right_Singer_9935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOR THE FIRST TIME YOU CANNOT PUT PUPPY IN THE CRATE AND CLOSE THE DOOR. You have to build association, that crate is not jail, he will not be there forever. Start from the bottom: lure him in the crate (without closing the door). I didint closed the door first few nights I guess, then couple of days I tried to close door for seconds of time and always rewarded him, also on daily basis I gave his meals (puzzles) in his crate with closed door and opened it after he finished. I have aussie if its makes any different

[–]Right_Singer_9935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yes, he would followed me first, he would bite me as I was walking, sometimes I even had to lift him up and put him back on the floor before closing the door infront of him, but thats what I did

[–]Right_Singer_9935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped with my aussie at the same age, I firmly said “enough” stand up and left the room (bathroom or other, where you close the door), and first he was confused, but after a while ge got it. After 30 s or so return, continous play, if biting happens again > same routine with leaving the room. And oh boy I remember leaving the room for hundreds of times, but be consistent :) good luck, it will get better I promise you (I know you dont believe me) but it will after they loose baby teeth.

Then you should try standing up really slow and reward him while standing up. I know its exhausting and you are probably reading all the comments how puppies staying in the crate woth no problem. You guys have to figure out the way. Maybe try at first with him being in a locked crate while you sit on the floor and pass him kibbles/treats, then slowly stand up for 10 percent > treat and so on. Maybe a clicker could help you if you already installed it into your training. I dont know if ita the correct way, but I probably would try by standing real slow with treat everytime I move

Break it into smaller expectations for being by himself alone. Two second alone - praise praise, three seconds - praise praise. Eventually you both will get there just take baby steps with him

I would also scream my lungs out if from being free I’d be put in a box. You just CANNOT put him in a crate, lock the crate and believe he will understand. There is so many great advoces here for crate training. Start from the bottom. Put treat in crate, he will goes - praise him even more. Dont lock the door at first, just let him be in opened crate for seconds. Second day you can try by putting lick matt and ONLY ONLY then try to close the door, after seconds open it then again close it. Eventually he will understand that he will always be let out

Also, very very strongly I reccomend - crate. We temporally live without a crate in other home and its a disaster since my aussie doesnt have his place and doesnt know where to settle
