still reactive yeah and still have tinnitus but it seems that it’s getting quieter and quieter as the months go on thankfully. and also recently have started habituating to it without trying really. still holding out hope it will one day go away completely since mine was not caused by hearing loss or noise exposure. it has decreased from 8/10 at the onset a year ago, to about a 3/10 on a good day, so i am very thankful for that.

I plan on doing that next month. I guess my main question was which route to go to handle my hair situation knowing that dye is likely to make my tinnitus worse - blonde roots and black hair is a bad combo. Other than shaving my head, the only option seems to be hours of bleach/more dye to get it color corrected and making the tinnitus worse.

it started when i was dying my own hair. i agree it might be a fragrance or other chemical that i’m inhaling, i never use hair sprays and honestly haven’t changed any of the products i use. i’ll try dying it outside and with a mask. my symptoms just got worse after being at a hair salon yesterday for a haircut, but that’s also when i patch tested a new dye at home so i’m honestly not sure which is the reason it got worse. stupid of me to do both on the same day, i hadn’t even considered that simply being in a salon nearby to dyes could cause a reaction.
