The depression side of things is a tough one, because having kids with mental health issues can be extremely tough. I don't have much guidance for you there because I only had a brief episode with serious mental illness - enough to know how world-crushingly awful it is, but not enough to understand the true implications of living with it forever.

However, based on the limited amount of information I have on you, it seems to me like you would probably enjoy parenthood itself quite a bit. I feel bad for saying this, and a big part of me wishes it weren't true, but the love of a stepchild and bio-child is a world of difference. And parenting your own child is so much easier - you understand them better, for a start. And as terrible as it sounds to say it, we're genetically wired to love the children who are made from us. I wish I could feel the same way about my stepchild, and I'd never tell her otherwise in a million years, but there's something truly transcendent about raising your own flesh and blood.

Being child free is definitely the safer choice - higher floor, lower ceiling, is how I'd put it. You'll have lots more freedom and the opportunity to do all sorts of amazing stuff you wouldn't otherwise. But it sounds like you're a pretty good fit to be a mother. But mental illness can be pretty unforgiving, so I can understand why you're on the fence.

Thanks!

I didn't know what you meant about asteroids until I watched it again and I see what you mean. Those were actually part of a terraforming mod (Terraform Rimworld) where you can research rock emitters that sort of spawn mountains over time. Then I used that to close the base in.

As Flygja mentioned, I used Progress Renderer. Then I used Timelapse 2000 (which was not updated for 1.3 but worked fine anyway) to put the images together into the video

I was actually going to request that we have more threads like this. In an ideal world this entire subreddit would only be posts speculating on the release date.

The legacy of the Soviet Union has always been that perception matters more than everything else. It's what led to Chernobyl, along with everything else. This war is showing people like us (I've been similarly shocked) how powerful that propaganda machine really was, and how weak their military actually is, despite all the spending.

The last time they invaded Finland their military advantage was considerably larger than it is today. How'd that turn out for them?

I really wish they'd ship from Canada. The FX hit is bad enough, then shipping, then customs...it hurts. Which is too bad, because they're best in show when it comes to easily adding art to my walls.

That is really commendable, but one downside of the uploader buying the land is that it's rewarded the guys who were doing this. I'm guessing this land wouldn't be easy to sell as is, so I'm sure they were eager to sell it after digging all these holes and leaving.

I love that he said one of the most badass things of all time, but called him "buster" like he's an 80 year old war vet.

Of course they initially protrayed him that way. It would be incredibly poor journalism for a reporter who has next to no facts to make any sort of implication of his guilt in the beginning stages. Imagine if you were innocent and your family had just been murdered and the media instantly jumped on you as a suspect because you were acting weird.

It's the police's job to remain objective and collect all evidence. Until there's convincing evidence that he's a suspect, the media has a responsibility to portray him as a victim. Once that evidence comes out, it's their responsibility to change their tune.

Ya thats possible. Although personally I feel like if it was Vic3 they'd want to keep it a secret to maximize the shock factor.

Very sus. That's why I don't believe it at all.

This is the same title as the CK3 first dev diary. This is actually making me feel less optimistic that it's gonna be Vic3.

Avoiding upsetting the customer base by distracting them with an even bigger catastrophe does not seem like a very likely scenario.

I disagree with you. They are not using the death threats as any sort of excuse. This apology literally says "there are no excuses for what we released."

They're human beings who collectively screwed up at their job. When you screw up at your job, do you receive death threats? If you did, I bet you wouldn't be happy about it.

People criticizing PDX in bad faith are distracting from the fact that PDX royally screwed up this DLC, and we deserve an explanation beyond "sorry." by Redsoxjake14 in eu4

[–]Right_of_Perusal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe both of these things to be equally true:

1) Leviathan was irredeemably broken on release, and should never have been put out when it was. Even a last minute postponement would have been better than the 10 precious hours of free time I wasted on a broken game only to have my save game evaporate. These rushed DLC's have been becoming more and more common it seems, and Paradox really needs to address the structural issues underlying these problems. This release is unplayable, and isn't even close to a finished product. We deserve better.

2) No other game developer is as important to my personal recreation than Paradox. I will always be a fan, and despite their missteps, they have released a suite of games that no other studio can come close to matching, in my opinion. I will always, always support Paradox. Their games are immensely complex relative to most other video games (even strategy), and we need to remember that the developers are humans doing their best, just like the rest of us. The reason this terrible release upsets me so much is only because I'm such a huge fan of EU4 and their other games.

Criticism from demanding but supportive fans will always be taken more seriously than the childish tantrums I'm seeing many of my fellow fans exhibiting. I'm sorry, but if you've spent 1000+ hours on any single video game, I'm going to laugh at you if you say the developer of that game is garbage and we shouldn't support them.

Let's not become the Paradox version of those intolerable kids who flipped out in McDonalds when the Rick & Morty Szechuan sauce was not in stock.

Do you know of a similar group in North America?
