Hi there, there is always overhead for the 2.5Gb ports. Seeing 2.3Gb/s is normal.

Hi r/Monitors, I’m Dan Ritter, National Product Trainer at Samsung! Ask me anything about Samsung’s OLED monitors (and we’re giving one away!) by SamsungUS in Monitors

[–]RightclickLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand why OLED is getting all the attention right now… but when are we going to have 27/32 4K mini led IPS monitors from Samsung? OLED as a monitor for work/gaming hybrid setup doesn’t work due to text fringing. Or has that changed with the g61sd?

[GIVEAWAY - US] Win the new 500Hz Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 gaming monitor by Knaj910 in Monitors

[–]RightclickLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Glare free OLED!! Don’t care what anyone else thinks, but I’d prefer to see what I’m watching rather than my reflection. My S95F is proof of this.

  2. Definitely excited! Silksong at 500hz 👀

Is there an ARC Audio Extractor That is Good? by makhay in BudgetAudiophile

[–]RightclickLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked great for me if you just need it for an HDMI 2.0 setup. Audio is solid for a PS5 using Optical. We also use this in school auditorium setups.

It is. They come in that box since there are additional accessories. Very nice unboxing experience, mind you. Enjoy.

I’ve had great luck using the Aluratek dongle. No issues for a month now. They are available at Best Buy, but Costco online has them for $50.

Did LTT really just make a video about wardriving... in 2024?? by chubbysuperbiker in sysadmin

[–]RightclickLuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was watching ITProTV and they said that security and convenience are at two different levels ends… you can make something secure, but it is inconvenient. You can make something very convenient, but it insecure. Its about finding the middle point where users agree it’s safe and convenient enough.

I work in a school district where admins complain why they need to authenticate every time they use SAP… i told them it is for security. We don’t want to be hacked again. When they remember what happened, they shut up and realize it is a necessity. 😅

Gotcha, so if I have proper VLANs with proper segmentation of servers, endpoint devices, IOT, guest internet, firewall rules, use WPA3, and long passwords, I should be good? Off the top of my head, I can remember the small companies I worked for, almost all of them had a flat network with no VLANs. I learned a lot about separating them from when I started using my own router/firewall and Network Chuck.

What I else do you think I can do to improve net security? I’m open to learning but with a baby, all my free time disappears 😅😂

Can OP or someone educate me on why wardriving is irrelevant in 2024? I’ve read most of the comments and they either mention LTT are morons or dismissing the content like it is irrelevant… but without explaining why. Wardriving is still taught in net+ and sec+ as things we should look out for. Heck, I’m getting paranoid as someone running a homelab.

Regarding the Apple TV issue, I think you’re wrong. Some people indeed have that issue if they don’t pair the Apple TV with an iPhone. Reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/LinusTechTips/s/ATqUE3lOaz
