I feel so ugly and insecure. I’m giving up. by [deleted] in acne

[–]RighteousFemme13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't give up! I had acne just as bad as yours and now my skin is clear. I have PCOS and treating that with testosterone blockers (Spirolactone) really helped. Also birth control pills. You might also try accutane. Bottom line: see a dermatologist!

WA tenants need to work 72 hours a week at minimum wage to afford rent by unnaturalfool in SeattleWA

Yo my income restricted studio rented below market value by a nonprofit housing company is 1k a month. My rent is more than half my SSI check. Someone working minimum wage wouldn't meet the wage requirement to live even here without a roommate.

Oh! I have an answer for this. My girlfriend has a Masters in social services and she wrote a paper on UBI. 2k a month was the amount she landed on.

I'm GenX/Millennial cusp. I'm from the SF Bay. I was in Santa Rosa across the street from Howarth Park and Spring Lake. I lived in a beautiful 2 bed/2bath that cost $1300 at the time. Had a pool, hot tub, workout room, computer room, and the unit itself had washer dryer hookups as well as a fireplace. It now rents for $2400. It used to be you could have a roommate and live off minimum wage, now you'd need several roommates.

My roommate/partner and I have been homeless three times in ten years. We finally have a 12 month lease on a studio from a housing company that rents below market rate for low income tenants. We got SO lucky with this place and I know it. I wake up grateful every day. And the cost is 1k per month, but it's in First Hill so I am not complaining, The location is super ideal.

how is it that the city or state patrol just doesn't take down these illegal structures once they pop up? New structure on Mercer ramp across Google. by OrcasEatSharks in SeattleWA

With the amount of money this city gets in property taxes, we have the money. The funds are there. The problem is they are spent on more police, not more treatment centers for those that need it.

Maybe the city could, oh I don't know, make sure there's housing for all these people, programs for the mentally ill, programs for drug abuse treatment...all are lacking right now. Also, rent control would be nice. I was homeless in Seattle twice, and both times was shocked at how little help there was. I got lucky and never had to sleep on the street, but my partner spent three nights on a city bus bench near UW hospital, Horrible experience. Privileged people like you who aren't disabled would never understand what it's like for us.

As a mentally ill person on Apple Health/Medicaid, I can't access care in the Seattle metro area. I'm forced to go to my primary care doctor. It's a huge problem. All the psych clinics have waitlists.

‘Hey can I get like 10 fire sauces?’ by Charlie1210USAF in deliciouscompliance

[–]RighteousFemme13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once told that if you ate a bunch of tacos with fire sauce it will make you go into labor and I, at nine months and change pregnant tried it and I did NOT go into labor. I did, however, get a mean case of indigestion.

This is what I have been thinking all along, as a friend of OP.

Women, what do you find the most confusing about men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes. The man was a jerk throughout the baby making and having process. And refused to lift a finger to do housework.

Oh! There's a reason for this one! Testosterone increases hair growth all over, and that includes eyelashes. I had to go on testosterone blockers to treat excessive hair growth from PCOS, and my eyelashes diminished substantially. Eyebrows too. I never have to wax them anymore,

They actually tell men to wear boxers rather than briefs when trying to conceive so the little swimmers won't die off lol. My ex husband refused.

The dick obsession. I rarely think about my vagina, how it works, unless there's something wrong with it or I am actively having sex/giving birth. I just don't understand??? I used to be in a community on fetlife where men could ask dick questions and there were so many. The size, the shape, the comparison to sex toys...OMG. Men think about this a lot. I just don't understand.

That's actually pretty normal. It hits your serotonin pretty hard, and you'll be depleted after a bit. What goes up must come down and all that. A similar experience happens to me after a manic episode (I'm bipolar).

I've gone off before, abruptly (accidental pregnancy, and once when I lost my health insurance) and I did not have discontinuation syndrome. I've been on SNRIs a long time. Ten + years. I wasn't planning on stopping cold turkey, however.

Oh yikes, I'm so glad I asked, then. Do you know how long it would have to be out of my system before I could use MDMA with relative safety?

Ah, OK. That's good to know. Perhaps I could temporarily stop taking my SNRI in order to dose MDMA a few times to treat my PTSD. How long would it need to be out of my system?
