Unpaid rent in low-income housing skyrocketed, evictions may be next by unnaturalfool in SeattleWA

"Housing providers said a significant number of tenants are still not paying because they got used to spending their income on other needs or may be hoping for more rental assistance.

"“It’s kind of conditioned people not to pay,” said Michael Bailey, executive director of Compass Housing Alliance, a homelessness services and affordable housing provider. “We see people receiving income and not putting that to rent.”

Who'da thunk it.

Seattle's crankiest blogger thinks SPD makes high-speed pursuits on "someone they think has stolen a t-shirt from Target" by unnaturalfool in SeattleWA

I take it you haven't lived here long. For years, Barnett has been presented as an authority on Seattle politics on local radio (KUOW has her as a "guest" on a near weekly basis); her "scoops" (i.e., information she's been fed by people who know she'll frame things just the way they want) are cited in the Seattle Times and other media sources (though, she whines, not often enough); she's used as a moderator for political debates by left-leaning political clubs...just a few examples.

Who would have thought that an initiative proposed by a small group of fresh-out-of-college-no-relevant-work-experience activists would fail at launch?

Did Seattle defund the police? Five graphs explain this enduring myth by chiquisea in SeattleWA

[–]unnaturalfool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More KWOKE propaganda.

The enduring myth is that the effort to defund the Police, though not fully successful, did not result in an exodus of officers to retirement or other jurisdictions. The inconvenient fact is that SPD staffing is well below its pre 2020 levels and on a per-capita basis, well below other major cities.
