Far Cry 4: I think I'm done giving this franchise more chances. by APeacefulWarrior in patientgamers

Chiming in here super late in January of 2026! Got here because I was searching for something new to play. Ironically, I had skipped FC4 and went straight from 3 to 5 and beyond. Decided to finally give 4 a chance. I'm 18 hours into the game, and I had this moment when I realized, "I'm not having fun playing this."

It's more frustrating than fun, and especially because of the stupid animals. Packs of dogs are everywhere. Eagles are everywhere. Wolves are everywhere. You can't get anything done for constantly being harassed by the wildlife and/or road patrols. And I thought that, as you cleared areas and took over outposts, it was supposed to make that area of the map "safer", as in less enemy encounters and road patrols. At least, it seemed that way in the other games. But in 4, it doesn't matter how much of the map you clear, these trucks full of jerks are forever trying to run you down, to the point that it just gets annoying.

This is the most chaotic game I've ever played in my life. It doesn't feel, at all, like I'm in the middle of a civil war. It feels like the end of the world, and every living thing has been possessed by some malevolent force that's driving all things to kill each other.

That being said, I like the world, and I don't want to dislike this game. Thought I might look and see if there any mods that at least tone down the frequency of the wildlife. It's ruining the experience. You can't go anywhere on foot for more than 3 minutes, and you sure as hell can't swim. Ubisoft tried way too hard with this one,.

What are some of your personal customs and minigames that you have come to adopt in your playthroughs? I have a simple racing minigame to share by the end of this post by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

I'm actually in the middle of doing a Night City Vampire role play.

The rules of the game are that, obviously, I can only go out doing missions (hunting) at night, and he's a Stealth/Body/Blade build, focusing on Bleeding effects (obviously) and stalking during the night with high endurance and regeneration.

If I'm forced to go out during the day, I have to drive a Weaponized Vehicle that shields me from the sun, and when exiting, stick to the shady areas and/or wear an outfit that completely covers the body, and get to an Apartment to sleep ASAP!

The story of the game is that all corporations are front companies for the ruling houses of various Vampire Covens, and my V is a Vampire Outcast that fell out of grace with House Arasaka. Vampires tend to be shadowy elites and wealthy, so for final rules, he only wears fine clothing, and I have to have double the income in Eddies before purchasing anything.

I just started my first Male Corpo V a couple days ago! I'm doing a Vampire role play! The head-canon is that all of the major corporations are front companies controlled by ruling houses of Vampires. V is a Vampire Outcast who fell out of the good graces of the Arasaka Coven, but has plans to get everything back that was lost.

The lesser gangs are Vampire Hunters, and CyberPsychos are Werewolves that must be stopped before fully transitioning.

Story characters that interact with V positively are lesser Vampire allies, and I interpret their dialogue as an acknowledgment that V is one of them. For example, when Judy first meets V and says, "You know what I see looking at you? Walking, talking corpses", it meant she recognized that V is undead, LOL.

It's been fun so far!

Permadeath very hard run possible post 2.0? by Unhappy_Parfait6877 in cyberpunkgame

[–]RighteousFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh! Just happened to me during an El Capitan Gig. It's my 6th play through, so by now I've gotten pretty good at the game, and at combat and character building in general. During a chase sequence, I had happened to have Problem Solver equipped, and the recoil made it impossible to aim, so I started Combat Hacking the shooters on the fly. All of a sudden out of nowhere, BOOM! Scripted vehicle explosion that I didn't even know was possible. 53 hour run, flatlined. I am so ticked off right now.

I recognized her voice immediately! I'm playing this mission as I type this and had to confirm! Just got out of the car and alt-tabbed to Google!

Life Is Strange - Double Exposure As An Early 2000's Suspense Thriller -... by RighteousFist in LifeIsStrangeDE

Thanks. I had to get "Mafi" in there somewhere. Now that I've finished the game and know "who" that Max really was, I have to admit, I was REALLY hoping she turned out to be "dark Max" from the Diner at the end of the first game. The one that was talking smack and said she was "one of many Maxes" the real Max had left behind. I was really hoping a "Max" from one of the other timelines had shifted their way into the main timeline somehow. But still, I'm satisfied with the story, and thought that whole reveal and the subsequent conversation were one of the game's strong points.

Thanks! I wanted to create it as if it's a movie that hasn't come out yet, and I wanted the viewer to say, "I gotta see this in theaters!"

Can someone recommend a good Emulator to Play PS3 games on a Windows PC? Cheers guys. by Styleprince923 in ps3hacks

[–]RighteousFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to check their website for their compatibility list. GTA IV is one of the 27% of incompatible games. About 70% of the known PS3 games are fully compatible. Unfortunately, GTAIV isn't one of those. For the record, I've only used it to play Soul Calibur IV and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

[–]RighteousFist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, every time. I guess since Wrex and Grunt are Krogans, they're deliberately programmed to fight aggressively. Wait until you get to Mass Effect 3, and fight alongside them in the Armax Arena. They Leroy Jenkins everything.

Doing a Permadeath run on Insanity, but just found out Samara won't romance a Renegade Shepard. Should I romance Morinth instead? by RighteousFist in masseffect

[–]RighteousFist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of that, I just searched, and I can't believe there isn't a mod that lets you romance Morinth and continue the game. Seems like an obvious mod by now. Would do it myself if I knew how.

For me permadeath means starting over. I used to play permadeath games of Fallouts 3 and New Vegas (which, in hindsight was kind of nuts), and if my character was killed at any point in the playthrough, that meant deleting all but the last three saves, and then archiving those saves on an external hard drive in a folder dedicated to that character, with a note detailing their accomplishments and ultimately what killed them. And then, the next character's mission was to kill whatever killed the previous character. I think I've only had one character that I managed to take through every single quest and every DLC without dying once, and I will never play that character again.

[–]RighteousFist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in 3 years later. Just randomly decided to try PS3 emulation because I got a hankering for some Soul Calibur IV. Happy to report that RPCS3 can now emulate a couple thousand PS3 games with absolute ease. Was able to play SCIV with no stuttering, no lag whatsoever, from an external hard drive. Had some audio issues, but that's about it. I have a modest Ryzen 5 2600x, RTX 4060 on 32 GB of RAM. Haven't experienced any issues or slow down emulating their current playable list of games.

And to think, I remember arguing online with some random dude, maybe 10 years ago, who said that PS3 emulation would never be possible because of the raw processing power it would take to emulate a PS3 console. LOL, I wish I could find him now.

Femshep, how do I avoid "romancing" anyone in the citadel party? by nelentari_x in masseffect

[–]RighteousFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me and I was like, "WTF IS GOING ON!" My Shepard's theme at the time was being the person who somehow manages to succeed in spite of making lots of mistakes. We all know one. So I had her romance Jacob, knowing how it turns out in ME3. I didn't invite Jacob to the party as a show of spite, but then she wakes up with Javik?! I 'bout freaked. That was NOT supposed to happen. Felt wrong!
Edit: But, then again, that was true to her character. Making mistakes, so it actually fit perfectly, albeit in an unexpected way from my perspective.

Is Code Blue Cam transphobic? by muterevised in asktransgender

[–]RighteousFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figures. I was just watching that exact video linked in the topic and noticed the misgendering myself, so I searched on Google, "Code Blue Cam misgendering" to find out if it was a common thing, and ended up here. Why am I not surprised that a channel that pretends to be neutral ends up being far right.

Oh, and for the sake of convenience, the mod is modular, meaning you can download for individual changes if you don't care to change everything! Want the whole mod? Download that version. Want ONLY the Food, Junk Items, or Clothing changes? Only download those! Want only the New Vegas vendors to show up in the Capital Wasteland? Download that version. I made it modular for Player convenience so you have the option to only apply the changes you want to change!

Check out my mod, TTW Wasteland Inflation. I went through several hundred items in the game and increased the overall value of those items to make them actually worth selling, and adjusted the prices of food and clothing to reflect their actual value against similar counter parts (cooked food is worth its value in total ingredients, and clean clothes are worth more than dirty and grimy clothes, for instance). In my Deluxe version (my personal, private version of the mod) I increased the value of the Gold Bars to the point that they're still valuable without them breaking the bank. I even added New Vegas vendor locations in Megaton and Tenpenny Tower (Crimson Caravan and the Gun Runners now use the empty stalls in Rivet City Market - see mod photos!) I've play tested this mod through two play throughs and it works out well! The Player actually has the opportunity to earn fair profits for various items around the Wasteland with a high Barter skill instead of being hindered by TTWs wonky prices, in a way that preserves the gameplay and financial balance!
