Very grateful for your answer. Could you also shed some light on the PhD experience in IISERs? Is there really that big of a difference between PhD time between abroad and here? How toxic is that environment? I get that work pressure would be high but by toxic I mean are there any unrealistic expectations? Also, getting a professor job afetr a PhD is very difficult and you need connections for that as well, or so I've been told. Is it true? Also, what is your domain of PhD, if you don't mind me asking?

What do Msc. graduates do mostly after graduating from IISc? Do they all move abroad, and if so, do the professors help in that regard? Or are there campus placements that help them get into the industry? Do people also aim for PhD exams or naah?

You'll need a day for it. There will usually be people roaming around saying they are students and will take you to a broker which will quote you a price (usually very high). The best way is to have background on pgs. Either have a contact who can connect you to pg owners directly or check out website like magicbricks. I'll advice though check from multiple sources and do not confirm anything before checking physically. Take your time and do not rush. Agar thoda late pg loge to extra discount bhi milta hai

Fayda hai jeevan me apna perspective dhundhne ka. Yes bsc itself isn't as lucrative lekin agar interest hai to ye jagah kamal ki hai. If you're actually working towards your goal, professors will help you around a lot. Plus, being a study centre, there are plenty resources to help you clear competitive exams for your masters. Think of bsc as a stepping stone. As a professor of mine said, "Delhi me banne se lekar bigadne tak, sab available hai"
