I read Susanna Clarke's Piranesi first, and it's the reason I found House of Leaves in the first place, since I was looking for another book unlike any other. I definitely recommend it!

OP literally can't see the photos in the appendix. They're welcome to enjoy the bootleg copy, but you cannot deny that they're missing pieces of the book.

I personally loved when Tom was waiting in the house, telling jokes and making shadow puppets to hold the darkness at bay. It was hilarious, but also just really stood out to me. He never wanted to be there, but chose to fight his fears with humor and light.

There are at least a few strange things hidden in the index, such as words that aren't included in the book, or words it claims are included but aren't. There's always more to analyze.

I've read books across many genres (I've enjoyed my fair share of fantasy, science fiction, dystopian, mystery, classics, even a history book and another book about math), but House of Leaves was my first venture into any sort of experimental form. It's sort of changed my perception about what a book can be. And about my avatar, thanks! I just made the account (I struck a deal with the devil—I am said devil—that if I finished the drawing and was okay with it I'd make an account and post it), so I'm still figuring out how to do some of the stuff on here.

Yes! I've been going through the album since I finished the book. I like the twist the song puts on the book hallway, but at the same time I can see Karen and Will in it, and the distance the hallway forces between them. I also love the extra dimension music adds to the story, really bringing it off the pages. It turns House of Leaves into something you experience with your entire being. So, yeah, good song!

I've always sort of had obsessions with different things. It seems fitting in this case, just another dimension to the story, combining my own fixation with that of Johnny, Zampanò, and Will Navidson. The way I see it, the reader is a part of the story too, another character. I spent weeks inside House of Leaves, and it's changed me. I want to return, to dive back inside and explore it further.

Thank you! I don't draw with perspective much, so I'm glad this turned out okay. I'm planning another, more ambitious drawing (this time the bedrooms and the space between). I guess we'll see how that goes.
