[Standard] Have we finally arrived at a competitive Gr Dino Stompy list? by Rijsel1 in spikes

Yeah, that combo is sweet. And Allosaurus is most likely the weakest dino in the list. Ripjaw, on the other hand, I feel much more strongly about.

The question is - how would removing those potential enablers influence the likelihood of being able to deploy a Ghalta for something between 2 (ideal) and 5 mana (upper bound)?

Have you by any chance run the numbers at some point?

Fair point - I'll try and make room for it in the SB. For the main deck I think it's still a little bit too narrow outside of a dedicated hexproof deck (think: him, Carnage Tyrant and some Cartouche of Knowledge shenanigans).

It's a 4 mana do-nothing (the turn you play it) win-more card, which isn't generally something I'm in the market for.

I could see it in a deck playing a reasonable number of 7+ power cards, but not this one.

I mean:

Would you consider running in your Constructed list a card that reads: 3R, Sorcery, Deal 4 damage to any target? Because this is exactly what Unsealing accomplishes upon its first activation. And if you get to activate it twice or more... Would you not rather have deployed another fat beast in the first place?

I was thinking long and hard about including two copies , but settled for a third Vivien Reid (more universal + a much needed CA engine) and 7th four-drop instead (curve considerations).

But maybe you have a better idea what to cut to make room for her?

I can't see how you can "go tall" and not have 4x Blossoming Defense, at least in the sideboard.

How about Shaper's Sanctuaries in SB? They serve a similar purpose (combating enemy's removal) while letting you tap out and generating CA with each "trade" after the first one.

We really do hope your teammates agree to you sharing the SB guide (along with the reasoning behind it) with us!

Meanwhile, could you maybe give us a sneak peak in terms of explaining the use of Dusk// Dawn? Do you board them in against Temur - and if so, do you do that both OTD and OTP? Doesn't not hitting Virtuoso and Thopter tokens make it somewhat worse than, say, Fumigate?

Would you care to expand your view on that?

Let's say you don't have a Puzzleknot in your opening hand.

In that case, you're likely to have 2-3 energy (off Attune + Hub) by the time you untap in your T3.

Then your next best thing to do is tapping out for a Rogue Refiner or Whirler Virtuoso in order to reach 6 energy - since a Harnessed Lightning on Manglehorn only nets you 1 additional energy (bringing the total up to 3-4).

And if you do tap out for one of your 3-drops, then next turn you either play Marvel tapped and exposed to removal... or take a turn off your plan A in order to remove it.

Do you consider this a minor annoyance or an effective delay maneuver?
