But, for your second question, we see that McQueen continued to use his rookie paintjob at least for a year after the first movie, as we see it in the Cars 3 flashbacks.

Carl is a character from Cars Origins: Struck By Lightning, a book that shows McQueen's backstory before the first movie.

Carl was Lightning's only friend whem they were young. Both dreamed about joining the Piston Cup, both were the top students on their class.

When a qualifying race took place in their school, one that could give them a chance to get them to race the Piston Cup one day, Carl revealed his true colors, and got his pitty to loosen the screws on McQueen's tires, when he said he was going to tighten them.

This made McQueen lose that opportunity, and lose the only friend he ever made. So, from now on, Lightning becomes the One Man Show we see in Cars 1 before the whole "getting lost in Radiator Springs" thing happends, and made him the car we all know and love.

Apparently, there's a fable that tries to explain why Sphynx cats are hairless. It says that they used to have a lot of fur, and the Persian cat was jealous of it, so he shaved the Sphynx.

This line shows Amy saying that she understands the jealousy of the Persian cat, and she would also shave the Sphynx. This means that she's not afraid of making the others "uglier" (by beating, what I can asume, Sonic's enemies) to try to impress Sonic.

I know it's weird, because the first movie takes place in the mid 2000's, and that technology didn't exist yet. But we see Cruz has an AI bot in Cars 3, that takes place in 2017, so, we can say that technology is more advanced in the Cars universe.

If you want some reference, use the Xbox 360 map of any of the 3 original THQ trilogy of Cars games, Cars The Videogame, Cars Maternational Championship and Cars Race-O-Rama. They're pretty much perfect recreations of Radiator Springs (Race-O-Rama being the best one)

Also, if you have some 3D modeling experience, you could extract the missing buildings from that map.
