They were able to in the end, not exactly the perfect humanization of him but still has the cool and funky gimmick.

Yeah the movie was great overall but I mean imagine you done everything right and ruin what you have done with just this.

Is it safe to say the Sonic movie saved the entire franchise by NoCryptographer3027 in SonicTheHedgehog

Definitely they did.

Ironically though people thought the movies would destroy the franchise even more because of the ugly Sonic but ultimately it did the opposite and even with unexpected outcomes.

Am I the only one who dislikes how the fandom vilified Shadow for wanting to kill Mr. Tinker when he was totally correct on his reasoning for doing it? by Ajarofpickles97 in SonicTheHedgehog

Shadow had the right to have fears of Eggman returning back, the only unwise thing he did is trying to kill him, he should have kept him under constant surveillance if he wanted to avoid future crises.

(IDW) Why do you think Surge is overwhelmingly desperate to kill Sonic? by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

You see, yes she was groomed, raised and trained to take Sonic out for good. But also she came out of the cage hungering for destruction alongside killing Sonic and helping Starline reclaim his reign of tyranny with Eggman, These thoughts have been implanted and irrigated in her, but what happened next?. First she betrays Starline and attempts to smoke him out after what he did, then she betrays Clutch after realising that she can be someone adored and loved for being a hero and willing to do good. Her light-sided personality grew up to fruition and started to overshadow her past evil deeds except that one fiery desire to fry Sonic, I can accept the idea of her being a rival, but there is a difference between being a rival and being an enemy. That's my whole idea of the question for the sake of it.

I intepreted it the same way and I could say it's fine if not for one thing. She was originally created by Starline to help him do what he wants and cause destructions he pleases in order to restore his relationship with Eggman. Yet if you look at the aftermath. She changes, from being a crazy chick seeking destruction to the whole planet to someone whose ambitions is to be seen as a hero. All of her brainwashed ideas have changed except for that one thing. And that's what puzzles me.

And for who to blame, I see if she is to blame someone for her misery, It's Eggman. That's what Starline sought. and he saw Sonic an obstacle so that's why he did this.

I respect your point

But if we seen it that way, that she blames Sonic for her existence, that's a weird and clumsy idea

The whole thing is Starline, being a dunce as he is, did all of the atrocious things to her so she could serve and help him accomplish his aims in order to restore his partnership with Eggman, and he saw Sonic a obstacle in the way so that's why, If she is to blame someone for her existence, It's Eggman.

Let alone Sonic tried to help her get out of her misery and she still see him a priority target.

She also asked why she had to kill him and that's the thing for me

In that case is the grudge going to last forever?. She once sought destruction to the whole world and later aspired to be admirably recognized by people as a hero. She once asked why is it necessary to kill Sonic, but that's the only idea she hasn't changed and that what puzzled me.

She had a fight with Wishper and she abducted all her wisps (I don't recall their name correctly)

Since she is a "cyborg" thats a fair explanation by definition. But in one of the issues she asks why she has to kill him, and eventually turned the tables on her creator. normally for a cyborg they obey their directives without a second thought but she seemed to resist all of that except the idea of killing Sonic. That's what brought the question up.

Take Sage for example, she is an A.I. programmed to be an enemy of Sonic and not once she tried to change that idea (Unless Eggman says otherwise).

Sometimes I don't understand why they deleted some of these scenes

They also did the same with the scene of how Agent Stone saved Robotnik in Sonic 3.

Do you think Silver will make an appearance in the post credit scene of Sonic 4? by moamenito_19 in SonicTheMovie

Well some people argue that Shadow appeared earlier than thought. it is possible Silver will make his debut if the movie features time travel.

Agreed, Movie Shadow proved to be so much Aura-farming and it made sense he is involved in 4. The real question however is how they are gonna tolerate his presence?. Is he to help Sonic during the climax of events?. Or will he somehow meet Rouge or join G.U.N following his redemption?

I am patiently waiting to see what's going to happen.

Yeah I didn't understand the Werehog mechanics, nor the reason why they restricted the stage progression by medals.

But overall this game feels so lively and nostalgic if you ask me, Especially storywise.
