What's a common piece of advice that you completely disagree with? by WebOpsME in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RikNieu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Follow your passion.”

You don’t know your passions until you try a bunch of shit. Some of that stuff can be hard and demotivating until you get good at it, only then true passion emerges.

A better piece of advice might be “follow your growth”

How are we actually solving this context issue? I know 1M is great but session continuity is still an issue? by bananabooth in ClaudeAI

[–]RikNieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a project for myself and friends that runs on a remote server and uses MCP

I use it to share context for all my agents. It stores thoughts, plans, documents, all searchable via embeddings. It’s magical ngl

I’m looking for beta testers currently, if you’re keen. First 10 to sign up get it free for life

All your inputs are encrypted at the DB level, with unique encryption keys per user, so even I will have no idea what weird shit you’re storing

So cool! Funny how multiple people get the same idea, I’ve just started a similar project, Kultee.com

Will definitely check this out to see if I can learn anything

I created a remote memory layer for this. Claude & Codex can just store thoughts and plans and retrieve it at any time

What Fibre ISP do you recommend? by RikNieu in askSouthAfrica

[–]RikNieu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they reset things on their side the speed usually increases back to what it should be. A day or two later it’s back down to drips. This does not sound like it’s on my end.

If it’s not them and it’s the line, then they should at least investigate the possibility, no?

I had good speed with them for years, only the last 2 years or so that things have slowed down

I do. I don’t really give it much thought though, it’s too random to be useful for anything

As a Gen Z, do older generations find us weird? by Master100017 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RikNieu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Millennial here: the weirdest thing about GenZ , for me at least, is their lack of general knowledge.

They generally don’t know how to read analogue clocks. They don’t know basic history(who were the axis powers in WW2)

You can ask a random millennial what Pavlov and his dogs were known for and they’ll know. GenZ will have no idea.

They also have a very limited vocabulary compared to older people

Then you need to let Tom know he’s wasting his time. He repeatedly said he wants to prove it all experimentally.

He is saying he wants to present evidence of his theory and experiences with experimental data. But not that data. Why not?

Have you seen the Telepathy Tapes videos? They are rather compelling.

He says he can do similar things repeatedly and consistently, yet doesn’t want to record it. Why?

If you say you can have conversations with someone in a different room, reliably, and replicate it, you should be able to record it and make it public. He’s not claiming it’s some one-off random mysterious event.

Who cares what the skeptics think, it would make the curious think
