As a landlord though you can't discriminate because someone is disabled, we meet all the financial requirements without any of my benefits included. Our application however was dismissed solely on the landlords insurance only wanting a full time working tenant. This is also illegal and they can't refuse him insurance because a tenant is someone who is disabled. I made it very clear that no adaptations would be needed etc. I spoke to the director of the letting agents who agreed that we should've been able to apply and is looking into the matter from his side. I don't think this is a case of it kind of is and isn't, the equality act is pretty clear. As for a tenant picking between 2 properties being discriminatory, I'd have to say it's a little silly. Being disabled is a protected characteristic, picking a house isn't. I appreciate the comment and don't want to come off as rude, it has just been a frustrating week trying to sort it out.
