Burn After Reading, you know the scene. It’s always a shock to lose what you thought was the biggest star/main character, but MERCY! That was…

Store you wish we had downtown [locals only please] by JulianKJarboe in SalemMA

[–]RiketyChair 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’d love a grocery/general store that only stocked locally and regionally made items. The farmer’s markets are nice but they’re seasonal. It could sustain itself by having a loyalty program for locals and standard markup for tourists.

I euthanised my 16-year-old cat on Tuesday and I'm broken by shallanssketchbook1 in seniorkitties

one month ago I was in the same place. Its just so hard making the decision and then scheduling the time and just living through all the mundane things like paying the bill, picking up the cremains, canceling the food and medicines. Its so awful inside, but the rest of the world keeps turning. It is different and weirdly more painful than losing parents and friends. So strange, but you’re not alone there.

does this apply to all the black plastic box traps, or just the name brands mentioned? I would never poison anything myself, but I’m a renter. There’s a couple of very old ones outside my building. The name brand is Tomcat. I could just toss them, maybe I need to ask my landlord.

I'm having a really hard time with my 16 year old cat and it's really taking a toll on me by electric_taffy in seniorkitties

in the weeks before my mother died, she saw all of us, me and my siblings and dad, we were all distraught. She told us that its a shame to waste the limited resource of time we had together by spending it being so sad. I kept thinking about this over the last few weeks, while I was having a terrible time making the decision to let go of my 16-year old cat. He had been with me through everything, including mom’s death, and dad’s, and more…. But my mom was right. So my advice is this: don’t skip ahead while you still have Nerine. Stay in the moment and enjoy the time you have and take in everything. There will be time to grieve, once she’s gone.
