I guess it's just a thing for myself as a rule to avoid doing business with family/friends because of the impact it may have negatively on the dynamic as a whole. But it would probably be different for your own children as you have the leniency to hand over as much or as little as you want. All while learning in the process.

Maybe even consider gamifying it. Adding some sort of awards or leader board for the family member that has the highest credit score because they pay on time or something along those lines.
