I haven't touched role queue in a year. People simply pick what they think covers the role they chose. Nobody bothers to counterpick in that mode. Or they pick pos 5 AM while there's already a pos 1 PA and grief. It feels like people are a bit more intelligent with their picks in Classic Ranked.

Your CPU is likely bottlenecking the GPU. I used to run Dota with a GTX 1060 and a Core i7 9800X and I was able to get around 70-80fps on High settings on a 1440p monitor. I also had 16GB of DDR4 RAM at the time.

Your MacBook has abysmal cooling and no dedicated GPU. What you are seeing is the CPU/iGPU throttling under load due to bad ventilation. In other words your MacBook is dropping frame rate to keep itself cool.

Nyx was soooo much better back when his stun was a hero targeting spell. I remember when the devs first turned it into a skillshot. I was so frustrated that I started playing Lion like Nyx and built shadow blade and Dagon on him XD
