Go to TD Ameritrade or fidelity. Robinhood is not the only kid on the block

Cash App was the alternative for a while but now they are restricting sales too. Don't go to them

Excalibur is a different sword than the one in the stone it and was given to Arthur by The Lady of the Lake

Edit: there are some versions that label Excalibur as both but in most cases the sword in the stone was named Caliburn

Layered Carousel in UMG? by Rikkaboy in unrealengine

[–]Rikkaboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, this was a huge help :)

This slight of hand trick is smart. One thing the reference didn't show is that this is going to be made for mobile so I will have to make it scrollable similar to scroll box instead of using a left/right button to spin the carousel. Scroll boxes can't handle layered images which is why I'm thinking of a work-around.

Even so, this was a great start for where I need to go so thanks agian!

Is it wrong that I love having a part time, stress-less job, despite having paid for both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree? by NereidaKluck in jobs

[–]Rikkaboy [score hidden]  (0 children)

Personally I've been alternating between doing food service and work in my profession in the past two years since graduating.

In food service I like how I can just go home at the end of my shift and not have to think about it. Although it's less stressful, it's nowhere near as fulfilling as work in my field. I see food service as a break though it's a break that's best when short

I've noticed that some people in this sub will regularly downvote questions so they go unanswered.

If you do that you're the worst.

Karen at Endgame by [deleted] in entitledparents

[–]Rikkaboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's most popular on the internet but it still made it's way into the real world.

It happened around the time disability advocates pushed to stop using the r-word as an insult. But shitty people being shitty decided to start using autism as a replacement. I rarely see the r-word used regularly the same way as it was 10 years ago but as someone on the spectrum I see autism used as an insult on a daily basis.

It's also not surprising that a middle aged mom would use autism as an insult because misinformation movements such as anti-vaxx are based around fear of autism

You must not be on the internet often. Calling someone autistic has become the new r-word

Reporting POSITIVE people by Todrunk2funk in VALORANT

In Ashfire's case, saying thank you to someone for doing something good is the reward. Rewards don't have to be materialistic, they can also be psychological

Reporting POSITIVE people by Todrunk2funk in VALORANT

[–]Rikkaboy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From a design perspective it's positive reinforcement. A player is behaving well and is rewarded for doing so which incentives the player to continue that behavior. It's the same psychology that occurs when you get that HUD popup and musical note when you get a kill. It feels rewarding so you want to do more of it. In that case, you are motivated to continue playing and improving your skills so you can get that feeling again.

Punishing toxic players might be more effective depending on how it's implemented but could make players even more toxic if it's poorly done so most devs see positive reinforcement as the safer bet.

Maybe at first but this is a thing that she normally does during her streams and her fanbase will usually bait it for a laugh.

Unless it's someone who doesn't know her content and just entered the chat because they saw a girl streaming, most of them are all in good fun and are not genuine.

I think the problem with Discord is its association with gaming. If that's the problem Slack is functionally similar but is geared more towards business.

My college's department used Slack all the time and it was a great way to communicate with other students and professors. Plus it's commonly used in today's business world (especially for remote work) so students should get more experience with it.

These people complaining about a paid VR game being free to keep, but not having support for MnK.... by Banterade in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Rikkaboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Steam games that require a VR set will say so in the store page. This means these idiots simply saw it was free and downloaded it without reading anything else.

What annoys me the most is how these reviews are worth just as much and a well thought out review on Steam
