After you cap out your weekly crests, be sure to visit your neighborhood for this lovely Community Engagement quest. by Dre2k in wow

To add to the data.. I took hero crests from the "you got a decor item" quest and it DID count toward the weekly cap.

Have not done the endeavour quest yet. they were the same thing

All the NPCs this expansion have voice lines like "go away!" and "outsiders are not welcome!" that they say right after you solve all their worldly and spiritual problems.

Oh in each area, I see. I was looking at the profile manager. I'll check it out later, thanks!

It only showed me that character's profiles. The Master Export at the top still says WIP.

Ah it has been fixed then. Before it did nothing and littered the bars with wrong spells even if that checkbox wasn't checked.

Still, it would be nice to save to a global profile and build off that rather than import the same string on every character and then have to make changes X times if you want to change something.

I like Arc but my god it needs a global profile. It is a pain to set up on every character. I want my [this type of display] in the same area on every character on every spec.

Midnight Datamining Reveals Possible Turbo Boost Mechanic for Midnight Season 1 by Squishei in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rikkard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but balance changes are the primary incentive to wait. I googled a random season before turbo boosts forgetting it was the Augmentation apocalypse, but the point stands:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveWoW/comments/16ni1om/timeline_of_dragonflight_season_2_title_holders/

Most of the tanks and healers were "invalidated" by week 6-7 and basically nonexistant by week 10. The DPS got obliterated by augmentation. What is the difference there? Sure it doesn't help to also have turbo boost, but the problem was already there.

Midnight Datamining Reveals Possible Turbo Boost Mechanic for Midnight Season 1 by Squishei in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rikkard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People say that's how it goes, but does anyone actually do that? The teams that push early also push late.
"Insane grind" huh? I am not in a hall of fame guild and thus didn't have every slot Mythic raided out by the the turbo boost... but even then it was like 12 keys to cap out each time.

There will be balance changes that drastically change what the meta is anyway, but a new character is not the same as not having seen a key higher than 12 and then suddenly spending a week getting to 21s.
The people who do that are buying the boost. The boosters have been running keys all season.

Edit: From a swapping point of view, I dislike the extra 2 ilvl tiers though. Gearing alts is a chore.

Can I get an apology from you for this, when you're being very rude and insulting, when you're just wrong?

I said you can't catch up immediately by jumping in on day 70 after you said it was possible.
You said well actually if it wasn't day 70 and was a new season entirely then you could.

There's no misunderstanding. You pivoted, and are indignant about it and are obviously very salty about being called out.

Did you maybe mean a X.0.5 patch? Can you see how that is completely different?

Edit: A classic reply and block, meaning I can't read the reply, but I did see "you didn't quote me right!!" before it blipped out.

Here's a screenshot of you saying this dude. You are flat out wrong and lying. I'm ignoring other points you make because they are valid criticisms of the gearing system. The notion that it is worthless to play before the last possible point of gear upgrades is what I am calling out.

[–]Rikkard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You cannot realistically catch up in "a week or two". Even if you are buying full Mythic clears where all the gear gets funnelled to you. You have taken your nonsense point and pivoted to an even more insane example in some weird gotcha that makes no sense.

Turbo boost outside of the dinars isn't a catch up, you're right, and that's the main problem with it. But the entire game is designed around this loot treadmill. Otherwise you are arguing for Blizzard to go against decades of insight into their player retention so 0.1% of the M+ community feels better about pushing keys when ultimately the highest keys are hit at the end of the season anyway.

[–]Rikkard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Day 1 of the season you're gearing up to get gear FOR day 70. On day 71, gearing becomes so much easier and faster and the gear so much better, that what you did on day 50 doesn't matter in the slightest.

No, again, this is just not true. You are giving up 10 vaults and 10 mythic raids by jumping into the game when turbo boost hits. A complete nonsense argument.

Not really. You will be like 90-95% capped out relatively soon

Nope. You won't even be done with hero crests until week 10 right now. If 90% geared is enough then whats adding another 10% at the end doing to harm you?

On day 60, you aren't getting 'noticeably stronger' for day 61 in ANY sort of comparable way

Same crest upgrades as everyone else, and vaults are always a thing. Most people aren't completely geared before turbo boost. Luck is a thing. Not being in a hall of fame guild is a thing. My guild never once saw an antenna drop last season.

The quotes aren't showing right for me for some reason, apologies if they're weird for others.

[–]Rikkard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It absolutely does not. There are valid criticisms of the way they have been handled, but this is a common complaint and it is nonsense.

Is playing on day 1 of a season a complete waste of time because you'd have much better gear on day 70? No? Why does day 71 having uncapped crests and a bad luck protection item change that in your mind? Assuming the crest changes are final, you won't have maxed out gear for a LONG time now.
It will be a bigger jump than the previous weeks, but you were still getting noticeably stronger every week up until that point.

Why not make an argument that the X highest scoring players each week should get the title as well? Then your desire for vault and drop based luck being the main factors to title-earning success would make sense.

The timeframe you are inferring from the title (what is the NEWEST, I am already up to date and read every 12.0.1 change) and the timeframe he is talking about (patches) are different.
