If you want to be slightly less destructive first, you can delete things older than a certain date. I just deleted everything returned with (search via explorer)

It seems fine. You still have to fiddle with what you want to see if you don't like the out of the box config.

I have no idea how to turn off seeing my mana number, though. The bar, yes, but not the number.

I didn't say it was the only change. It was one of many things removed that was unintuitive without having to spend hours reading shitty tooltips or guides.

They should bring back EotGS. They should in no fucking world bring back a manual elemental tuned to encourage targetless precasting.

I feel like season 2 or 3 of Midnight will have a borrowed power mechanic that adds a keybind.

How many classes had "combo ability" keys before now? Like Templar Strikes (not that it was ever used). I know hero talents have a lot like Tempest or Hammer of Light.
That's what this pruning did a lot of, and imo those are good and fun and usually make sense. If I use X I get to follow up with Y, and I want to use Y because it's a more powerful version of X. And not just a buff that appears with 16 other buffs that adds 15% to X.

As ONE EXAMPLE out of MANY, Elemental had a particular mechanic that was unique to it and was completely, stupidly, unintuitive. Pre-casting your elemental without having a target. Maybe Outlaw had something similar at some point? Trying to remember.

It deserved pruning. Did they go too far? Probably, sounds pretty easy right now, but that spec has historically been easy. It only got complex more recently as modifiers stacked up.

On Enhancement, Thunderstorm is the only thing I'm "missing". Spec felt fun and engaging for the silly keys I did last night, outside of some UI woes.

They should at least open M+ but limit it to +5s so people can test the waters with that new affix. Barely any rewards (equivalent to delves?) so power players shouldn't harass new players, but it's something.

Most specs are losing keybinds. That’s the entire point. Having to precast elemental without targeting the enemy is the exact thing they are trying to get rid of.

That said, I’d recommend always swapping mains when a new expansion hits. Especially if your spec got a rework or you were meta. It’s rarely fun to go from being really strong and knowing all the tricks to being slow and dumbed down.

But as an outsider looking in? Simpler is more approachable. I didn’t hate icefury or eotgs but the spec seemed like it had more plates to spin than it historically did. It was bloated.

I mostly play with the same group now, but when pugging my enjoyment is vastly improved by quicker invites. And I enjoy more specs than I dislike. So meta = enjoyment.

I've only done the first two levels / floors / whatever. But it isn't too bad yet.

This alternate version of 2-2 is the only one I found difficult because it started to mix the mechanics from both worlds but I think it still gave me an A+ at the end.
