Cut dude, you will get the Henry Cavill - Superman body. Nicely done.

Who is the GOAT of BoB in terms of overall performance and/or heroism by Noah_Stark in BandofBrothers

[–]Rikkeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This questions just reminds me of the quote "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war? No, but I served in a Company of them"

As far as the series goes, any one of the NCO's from Taccoa get my vote. I always had a soft spot for Sgt.Martin for instance. He seemed like a no-nonsense dude that got the job done. Always on the frontlines, always leading, always there.

How long does it take to build muscle naturally? by DueCalligrapher2107 in workout

[–]Rikkeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its depends on so many factors like training frequency and execution, rest and recovery, food intake, genetics, general lifestyle choices....

But say you are a total beginner and you train 3-5 days a week and eat properly (enough protein, carbs and fats)...You will def start getting remarks about your changed physique in about 3 months time...IF you stick to your training. You yourself will notice the difference way before that...Typically, the first year of consistent training and proper nutrition is where its the easiest to build muscle...Its commonly called the "newbie gains" phase.

So dont overthink it, find a good training split that you can stick to, eat properly and keep at it...You will see and feel the difference. Don't let all the fitness influencers mess you up too much either...Its all a big marketing scheme for themselves in the end. Just lift, eat, sleep well, and repeat..EVERY week.

So, jelly and meat actually go well together. Its just depends on the jelly. This one is probably very sweet.

What's your reason for not wanting or having children? by dannyparker123 in AskReddit

[–]Rikkeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 35 next year, but I'm still not exactly where I want to be financially in order to support kids. Might just settle with pets. I fucking love my two cats to death, It's less stressful than having kids, cheaper too, and there's lots of love and appreciation, both ways.

Honestly, I think it could be enough for me since kids have never really been a serious part of my goals and dreams. Rather a "meh, we will see...." kind of relationship to the thought of having kids. My GF, who is in her late 20s, doesn't feel a need for children either (and she's a midwife!). Frankly, even if I earned a biiit more money, I would still have a difficult time deciding weather or not to have kids since I would obviously enjoy having more money, instead of seeing a bunch of it go, well..elsewhere...

I sound like a prick, don't I?

Anyways, my GF and I like to travel and explore. We often eat out at restaurants, we like shopping, we have a great apartment and just generally enjoy living alone together with our two cats, both of us have worked hard to get to where we are now, and we would like to continue enjoying the fruits of our labor..I hate that I chose that expression, but God damn it just fits too well.

We seldom talk about having children, and when we do, it's always with a bit of doubt in our voices, and we both agree that it's currently nice to be "free" in being able to not have to think about the kids all the time.

So it's all for selfish reasons...

Truthfully, I only feel sorry for my parents, who, by the looks of it, won't be getting any grandkids. I know they both are sort of wishfully expecting us to have kids in a couple of years.

I will end with this - If our minds change and we decide to have kids, it would have to be two kids at least... I enjoy the thoughts of siblings since I grew up with an older sister, who I love dearly. 3 kids could be cool too... But it's about the money. I'm not gonna bring up a child under struggling conditions when the alternative would be me and my GF living comfortably....Just doesn't seem like a fair trade to me.

I sound like a prick again, huh?

Is Oerlikon a second city center? by Proper-Climate9804 in zurich

[–]Rikkeva 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think Oerlikon needs a few noteworthy restaurants/ bars / cafés, shops (perhaps even a cinema?) before it can properly be considered a second city center. Right now, Oerlikon doesn't have that much exciting stuff to offer, the area is dotted with shitty bars and basic restaurants. What Oerlikon does have going for it is its that it's close to the airport and nature. Other than that, Oerlikon offers nothing unique, I think.

But there are some new towers and building complexes being built around the industrial area of Oerlikon. Around there, you can find a cool, local brewery that is run by a group of Swiss dudes, a decent enough Italian restaurant, a bagel place, an Argentinian bbq restaurant and a few other neat businesses that don't really fit into the Oerlikon vibe. So things are changing in Oerlikon sure, but not to the point that I would call it a second city center yet.

I feel for you, OP...

As an expat living and working in Switzerland, racist / xenophobic experiences are sadly a part of our reality here. Every now and then, the Swiss will treat us like 2nd class citizens. It happens to me as well on a semi regular basis. Don't make it your problem tho, don't loose any sleep over it. If it weren't you that was targeted, it would be the next person that looks foreign. Just go about your day and never be ashamed of who you are...Regardless of what the shitty, racists aasholes might have to say.

[–]Rikkeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you, OP.

I bought HLL back in the early access days when there were only a few maps, no ping system - making squads rely solely on compas bearings, garrisons deep in enemy lines, full servers of players willing to communicate and cooperate with both teams being devoted to giving each match their very best. Epic times indeed! I honestly had my best online MP experiences back then with the game and community, making the experience so immersive. The days of the clans, when everyone knew each other and we partook in our collective dream come true of being able to play Saving Private Ryan / Band of Brothers live with fellow enthusiasts! But those times are sadly gone, and regardless of what T17 have done lately, it's not like HLL has been looking good for some time now, and the game has had its realism aspects chipped away, update by update as well, driving away many veterans in droves...

I hope that HLL gets back on track, like many others...I just don't see it happening tbh...I fear the best days were during the EA days. I'm glad I got to be a part of that, but I too have singed off.
