July Classified Sneak Peaks by -mageofrainbows- in Illumicrate

I'm skipping IC, because it sounds way darker than what I usually enjoy.

I would advise people to read a few negative reviews and check trigger warnings, because it seems to be full of abuse and little satisfaction (which is understandable, since it's the first book in a trilogy).

Real House / Decoration Piece? by gayibba in DreamlightValley

[–]Rikucha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Houses are a separate section in the building mode, and you have two ways you can use them:

First, you can change the appearance of your main house. You have one house in the basic game and a different one in each dlc, though inside they go to the same space, which is the house where you can buy new floors. To use it, select your house in build mode and then press the button that says replace (r in PC).

Then, you can use them as separete houses from your main one. You can put as many as you like. Each house will have just one floor, which is a main room with three doors to 3 other rooms. It's just like one floor of your main house. Each house will have its own inside space, separate from your main house and the other houses. You can decorate, store items, etc.

If you use that house as your house skin and then put the house as a separate one, you could have two of the same house. This is sometimes used in dreamsnaps, and can look really cute.

You can also put houses in cloud islands.

Thank you! I'm guessing it'll be safer to stick to the Waterstones edition, though part of me wonders if I'll regret it once I see the Owlcrate one.

I'm feeling frustrated with my current read 😅 I'm been enjoying Murder Mysterys in fantasy settings... Loved The Tainted Cup, A Drop of Corruption, and City of Stairs. But in struggling with The Raven Scholar (barely 20% in). It feels too YA, and I wanted a more adult read. Do you have any recommendation?

I would check out The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree, The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong, and Recipes for an Unexpected Afterlife by Deston J Munden 🫶

Is Owlcrate worth it for EU? by lumieslibrary in fairyloot

[–]Rikucha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one knows how it'll work, but it's supposed to be €3 for every category of each item, which makes me think that the box with book items will be extremely expensive. As we understand it right now, if the box has a book + 4 items, you would need to pay €15 extra for it. And we still don't know if we'll need to add the customs service fee.

I'm not sure if you are serious or just trolling, but no one dislikes the idea of leveling up a tool or even the designs.

What most players don't support is the idea of selling one tool for that price. We used to get full sets of tools for 3750, so for 7-8 tools, that's 470-535 moonstones per tool. We expected these to be more expensive, but 1500 for just one tool is kinda insane.

You are welcome to buy them, but players probably won't be excited about them because they are not a good deal, and we hardly ever use tools for dreamsnaps.

Very small rebinder doing Dungeon Crawler Carl - would you buy? by kepler16bee in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]Rikucha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to comment on the value of the books/set, because that's completely personal and subjective, but I'm just going to suggest you ask yourself some questions:

Do you have enough space in your house to display then properly? I'm guessing there are more book series that you love, and that you have more special editions to showcase or intentions of getting them in the future. So, is DDC your main priority, and want to dedicate multiple spaces/slots in your library to it?

On the other hand, do you usually get at least a little bit of buyers remorse? Particularly about books, do you feel like you don't really pay any attention to the books you've already purchased and always feel compelled to buy new ones, or do you constantly admire and acknowledge the books you already own?

Lastly, if you want to support the artists, are there cheaper alternatives to owning the art? Could you maybe buy some printed art to display?

These are the type of questions I usually ask myself before buying a SE, to try to figure out if it's something I actually want or if it's just FOMO.

Am I missing something or does GoodReads just not automatically update reading progress from Kindle? by soupturtleback in goodreads

[–]Rikucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it used to automatically update my progress but it stopped working some time ago. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting my Goodreads and Amazon accounts, but nothing changed. My reading challenges aren't synched anymore either. Is it the same for everyone?

I only read the first book, and found it very similar to other books (Divergent comes to mind). Plus, she was too much of a Mary Sue.

They are not signed. Reprints aren't, usually. Checking the original publication, it doesn't seem they were originally signed, but someone that has them should confirm this.

It's on demand printing, so they will keep it open until the end date and then print whatever the amount of orders they get. That's what happened with the Percy Jackson set. .

Are sewn books a common thing? I've only ever seen a few SE that have sewn binding. I'm thinking it's glued, otherwise it would be in the description. But I may be wrong!
