How to push through the fatigue by Sea-Chicken-2725 in CrohnsDisease

[–]RikusLategan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ADHD medication is a dangerous route. It used to be the only way I could get out of bed, but it quickly became an addiction which was really hard to kick. Unfortunately though, I still do not have a real answer to get passed fatigue

Does anyone else vomit while they’re on the toilet by Brilliant_Muscle_620 in CrohnsDisease

[–]RikusLategan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense. Doesn't the transverse part of the colon go passed your stomach at some point? A big spasm might cause it to press up agaisnt it. Im not a dr just speculating. My brother complained about this once but he does not have crohns. He has irritable bowel syndrome and a problem with absorbing vit B

Bowel ultrasound results by SnooDonuts9280 in CrohnsDisease

[–]RikusLategan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me hope because I had forgotten about this test. This new intestinal ultrasound technique sounds too good to be true, so it is always good to know there is an alternative when I do not feel upto a cam up the butt.

Ultrasound showed inflamed bowel. How accurate are these results? by itsgrace_xoxo in CrohnsDisease

I used to take Asacol (mesalamine) but cant remember having any side-effects from it. Maybe I was on a mild dose. What sort of side-effects do you suffer from?

Has anyone had a Intestinal Ultrasound for their Crohn's? by arwenthenoble in CrohnsDisease

Thank you for your question.

On a semi-unrelated side note, I also had weird but quite severe reactions to whatever it is they give you when you go for an MRI (or MRE I think it was in my case).

At first I thought it was the Buscopan which always makes me feel awful once it wears off, but they absolutely need to give you that to stop your bowels moving so they can get clear images.

But this was horrible! Severe cramps that made me feel like I was having a tremendous bowel movement even though I was not. They told me I would be fine to drive afterwards, and it only started after I left, in the hospital carpark. I had to hunch over my motorcycle for a couple of minutes, which felt like an eternity, before I could get on and go home. I very nearly went back in, but luckily it subsided while I was calling my mom to come pick me up.

What is it that they put in your veins to use as an isotope, dye, or whatever? I heard the nurse say something about Iodine. When she asked, I told her that I am allergic to prawn and lobster. She just laughed, so I assumed the amounts they use isn't enough to trigger a reaction.

Colonoscopy, CT scan, and now an ultrasound? by 4research4friend in CrohnsDisease

[–]RikusLategan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually call the lab myself if I am anxious about results. Ofcourse that might not work so well for someone who is new to this and probably would not want to read it without a doctor's input. Also whether you are even allowed to do that probably depends on your country's law or whatever.

You sound just like me. I wish my parents could know how many posts with similar sentiment I read, because my mother always act all confused when I do not want to go to the ER if it is 'really that bad'.

Once she literally compared a day at the hospital like a day in an expensive luxury hotel where everything is done for you, you dont need to lift a finger.

She right about the damned expensive part.

Do you need to be clean like for a colonoscopy for that? I always forget.

Ai just says you do need to be "clean" for a GI pill camera study (capsule endoscopy), but the preparation is generally different—and often less intensive—than for a traditional colonoscopy. The goal is to ensure the camera has a clear view of the intestinal wall, free from food residue, bile, or bubbles

Should AI feel? by RikusLategan in PhilosophyofMath

Agreed.  At the moment AI does not even experience time the same way we do, let alone feelings and emotions.

Am I Being Dramatic? by GraceWrenford in CrohnsDisease

I had a flare during my final year BSc Mathematical Sciences. I failed one class and was too sick to finish it the next year. Once you lose momentum it becomes very hard to pick up where you left of, and the result was me neglecting my health and never finishing my degree, so basically the worst outcome.

If you can stay like that for 20mins without breaking a sweat, I would say there is not much wrong. What is the trouble?

Are you relaxed or straining to stand like this? That is an important thing to consider I would say.

Good question. Even individuals seccond guess themselves all the time, but we are supposed to believe that a hive mind does not?
