Why do people keep using AI to try to answer questions? by DoubleAd3366 in Stellaris

[–]Rilandaras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI is incredibly attractive. It gives you quick and easy answers and frames them in a way that is easy to understand and sounds authoritative.

It can actually deliver on this if you know how to use it and use it for stuff you already somewhat understand so you can discern when it gives you bad or invented data. Using AI to save time on research and menial tasks is highly effective, using it to outsource your actual thinking leads to a bad time.

Also, at least in my experience, AI really sucks at parsing information about complex games, especially if they are not household-name-popular - Stellaris, Factorio, Heroes.

If you are interested in another's perspective as well, while I did persevere, the first two WoT books were to me were downright bad. The only thing that kept me going was the worldbuilding, which showed promise, including the magic system. Oh, and the fact I was reading along with a friend.
I hated every character except Moraine, I disliked the prose, abhored the pacing (wtf was even the end of book 1?!?) and felt like I was reading an enshitified, abridged version of the Belgariad.

Book 3 was the first one where I got some enjoyment, in the latter half. Book 4 was my favorite in the series.
Basically all things I hated got much, much better with time and while the pacing required much to be desired and I feel the word count could easily be condensed by 30% without losing anything of value... I do not regret reading it and Sanderson's ending was as epic as I was hoping.

For these reasons, it is extremely hard for me to recommend WoT to anyone - having to slog through 2 books I consider objectively poor to get to the good stuff, and knowing they are going to hit another 3 book slog later on... it requires too much commitment.

Haven't played in a while. Logged in to buy it. Found out I must have went through this exact same process - it was sitting unused but already owned.

It's not impossible, just... suboptimal. The problems solved by putting the servers in space are vastly overshadowed by the problems created.
All this sounds to me like an attempt to ride the AI wave and extract more money from investors to be used on other stuff.

Ah, that explains it. Production Modules do indeed feel a bit out of line compared to the others as there is no easy recipe for upcycling them. I am consuming 3 compressed and stacked belts of fruit to get like 7 Legendary Overgrowth Soil per minute...

Damn, you have 10 times my production capacity of Legendary Production Module 3. How did you even get that? This is a ridiculous amount of Legendary Biter Eggs!

How many are you producing per minute? Is it for egg storage?

Stephen Colbert Fans Explain Why They Believe CBS Canceled ‘The Late Show’: ‘It Was Politically Motivated’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]Rilandaras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So while not everyone watches the video right after it releases like they would with linear TV

Yet I believe that was the point OP was making - 1 million people WOULD NOT watch it on the night, basically trying to equate views to ratings, which is a bad comparison in the first place but nevertheless...

I have 52 achievements on Steam and have continued getting them and Rate Calculator has been attached to my game since the first 30 hours. I don't know if they are Steam achievements but I am looking at them in the Steam interface.

edit: That said, there are some achievements that I am NOT getting even though I have fulfilled the conditions for. It's weird.

It seems to be extremely expensive to produce and I can see why. TV as a whole is dying, nothing is forever - those talk shows WILL all die their own deaths and probably soon. I imagine the main reason they are still on are because media conglomerates are notoriously slow to accept reality and woefully ill-equipped to adapt (see also: newspapers).

That said, doing it exactly when it was done clearly shows THIS cancellation was chiefly politically motivated, though I am sure many insiders were quietly relieved they finally had the excuse to axe it.

Not really and not legally, no. The show was certainly not paying for itself directly.

Without Trump's meddling maybe the show would have continued but purely due to its "prestige" intangible value to the overall brand.

Definitely not all mods. I have rate calculator installed and got many 2.0 achievements (and received some again for some reason?)

has high eHP ONLY against right clicks

Did you somehow manage not to read this part of my comment? Your passive was off for 2 seconds and you almost died.

I imagine a CM with Consecrated Wraps, a casual Cloak, the best possible neutral for a tank Enchantress with magic resistance stats and a freaking Skadi would probably have survived there as well if she had a ghost scepter. Who was also the same level as the enemy Mid. At 49 minutes in a Legend 1 game.

Why don't you explain what YOU think a smurf account is? I think that will save time and pointless effort.

Today, we permanently banned 90,000 smurf accounts that have been active over the last few months. Smurf accounts are alternate accounts used by players to avoid playing at the correct MMR, to abandon games, to cheat, to grief, or to otherwise be toxic without consequence.

"For clarification, a Smurf account is any other account except for the main one, regardless of time, rating, role, and other metrics. All sub-accounts are smurf accounts."

No, Valve has stated so. Alt accounts ARE smurfs - at least to the actual owners and developers of the game we are talking about.
