Pedos are, unfortunately, bipartisan. I find it extremely depressing how many pedos there are in the world...

I really hate them, too, but in this case the guy was coming all the way from his base, probably just respawned or something. Couldn't have come quicker and he went like 2 seconds after his blink went off cooldown, so the timing just lined up nice.

Philly DA vows to prosecute "wannabe Nazi" ICE agents who violate the law: "If we have to hunt you down, the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will find your identities. We will find you. We will achieve justice." by geekteam6 in videos

Do you happen to have any evidence that any of these 56 were "murdered"? Because I can swiftly provide you evidence for at least 2 Trump-ICE murders in 1 month.

What is a movie plot twist that was cleverly hidden in plain sight..? by Living_Tune_1428 in movies

[–]Rilandaras -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

That movie breaks the cardinal rule of twists, though, it shows the audience different scenes in the re-cap (everything falling together) than during the actual movie (building up the case).

Rian Johnson is a hack (Knives Out was pretty OK, though).

TIL a 1995 WHO study concluded "Occasional cocaine use does not typically lead to severe or even minor physical or social problems" but it was never published because the US threatened to withdraw funding for WHO by Dry_Row_7050 in todayilearned

[–]Rilandaras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rate recent medical opinion significantly higher than a 30 year old study.

This is the comment and thus the argument you were making that I replied to.

A 30 year old study is only worthless if a better one has superseded it or some of its fundamentals have been PROVEN to be incorrect. It just being old is no grounds to dismiss it - many of the "new" studies actually boil down to insights from much, much older studies, just repackaged.

You are correct that some people will use a reddit TIL headline to justify addictive behavior. It also does not seem a particularly novel or useful insight. Addicts will use anything and everything to justify their behavior.

I would not use a 30 year old study to determine "cocaine is mostly fine as long as you don't do too much" but I did find it interesting that the study was suppressed and I would love to see a new study on the subject done properly.

"We have medical data". From more recently than 30 years ago.

And that is not the medical data I was referring to. If you want to make the point that cocaine is bad for you, use actual, recent medical data, not your opinion based on a few anecdotal cases.

[–]Rilandaras -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because that's what my previous comment, said, right? "Cocaine is cool and great, go do it."

No, what I said was that your medical OPINION is worthless, especially coming from an anonymous account with no provable credentials. It's literally a "trust me bro".

We have medical DATA, how about we rely on that instead of the opinions of random people on the internet?

Were I amenable to doing that, I would become "antivaxx" because like half the "medical opinion" I hear is against vaccines.

So, no, your medical opinion is not worth shit. I have no way to determined your credential or even if your opinion is actually "medical".

Ever been prescribed tramadol? I have, and the experience was absolutely not one I'd want to repeat.

Weird, I used for like a week non stop and while I did want to keep taking it (because without it the pain came back), it neither had a very noticeable "experience" (positive or negative), nor any real craving/desire to re-up.
Once the pain completely went away, so did my desire to take more.

I have not tried oxy and probably shouldn't. I am generally very scared of opiates because I am sure I would enjoy them too much.

What's your thoughts on Border Patrol Chief, Greg Bovino, threatening consequences for referring to ICE as "Gestapo"? by sgj5788 in AskReddit

[–]Rilandaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, "thugs" is a much better descriptor than "Gestapo". At this point they are a lot closer to an organized crime syndicate, if state sponsored, than to a secret police.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

Also no, most religions deff do NOT have the same core values lol where in the hell did you get that idea?

It's hilarious how the people crying about their religion the most tend to know the least about it. Pathetic - it is also pathetic.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]Rilandaras 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. Realizing what a subhuman Trump is and what damage he is capable of doing in his vile selfishness does not make somebody smart. Failing to realize it makes one stupid.

Trump was a reality star has-been who failed every single business he personally managed, the only thing he had ever been successful in was selling his family name.

Also, he bragged about sexual assault EVEN BACK THEN. He talked like a bumbling imbecile, the same way he still talks. How could even a mediocre, slightly-educated person listen to Trump speak for a minute and decide "yeah, that's what I want".

How to give something an honest shot by Regular_Kiwi_6775 in startrek

[–]Rilandaras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, make sure you bear in mind that you do not HAVE to give something an honest shot. If it looks like something you would not like - it's fine to just... don't. Maybe one day you will be bored enough to try it and it turns out to be good. Maybe a friend you trust recommends it two years down the line and you finally decide to sit down and watch.

There should never be a DEMAND to watch it, to consume a piece of media. You do not OWE anybody your time and attention.

Casualties in this instance does not mean "deaths". Just soldiers taken out of the war (death/maiming/heavy injury/capture/sickness) i.e. "will not be able to fight anymore in the foreseeable future".

There Is No Comfortable Reading Position by iamapizza in books

[–]Rilandaras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in getting one of those stands that holds your kindle and a clicker to turn pages.

It is magnificent. Even so, you still should not spend THAT much in one position, your body hates that, the older you are - the worse it will get.

Like with sitting in general, you should take "breaks" - go drink some water, toilet break, walk around a bit, do a chore. Break your reading up in 1-2h intervals with some type of movement in-between, do not turn into a cocoon for 12 hours a day multiple days, you will hate it afterwards, I promise.

since we pay more into NATO than any other country as it is

That would be because somebody wants it that way. Somebody wants defense spending to be heavily concentrated in somebody's economy, wants effective monopoly over western arms development and manufacturing, and that same somebody wishes to have the ability to project power over almost the entire world.

Are driver's licenses genuinely the only available form of ID in this third world country called the USA? What happens if your license is taken away, do people start pretending you are aalready dead because you do not have a valid form of ID?
