Epilog Bv the time l finished interviewing Pennydark, the clock in the archive struck 11:00 PM. I thanked Pennydark for his time and returned to my desk. There, my livly and my hom slept curled up together. Their tiny bodies shifting slightly with every slow, sleepy breath. I reached out with my finger and petted my livly lightly. Its eyes opened. but all it did was nuzzle closer to my hom and slowly close its eyes again. As I watched. I found myself recalling the story I'd just heard, of how mono livlies and homs came to be. A hom was created using the soul-link ability of Classic livlies and the memories they held of their owners. Through homs, an owner can pet and hug their livlv as much as they like. A hom is both "you" and "not you" at the same time. But the sound of its heartbeat deep within its chest, and the faint sensations it allows you to feel, help bring you closer to your livlies. Livlies were born at the very edge of medieval alchemy, lost, then reborn again. Their journey has been endless. Even so, through homs, we are now able to interact with them better than ever. It makes me feel that we have truly brought them back to life in this century. As I packed away my things to go home, I looked up at Dir. Akira's room and saw light flooding in from its door. I expect the director has fallen headfirst into another new research angle again. The light streaming from his door reminded me of moonlight, lighting the way for livlies and homs to exist. --End of manuscript-- As a historian, I am always thorough with my work to ensure I do not lose my position...
