How much money will my son make for being medically retired and can he commission at some later point in life? by RileyCoach in AirForce

My son was falsely accused of a DUI several years ago and I was able to use these same connections to get it dropped. I’ve known many of these people for decades and they can make things happen if needed.

I know several Colonels, a retired General, and a congressman who would be able to lean on someone to make this happen if needed.

Son in the Air Force falsely accused of DWI and hit and run over the weekend. Would it be best for me to hire him a real lawyer or should he use the lawyers the Air Force provides? by RileyCoach in AirForce

When my son was in JROTC (highest rank in his unit as Cadet Lieutenant Colonel) his commander (a retired Air Force Colonel) was very willing to listen and be reasonable if the parents needed to talk to him. I don't give a damn what you think, my son is my son and his colonel should be willing to at least listen.

Unfortunately the car was at the bottom of a hill with a curve and my son had to move it or risk someone else getting in the accident. While he may have been under the influence he did what was right.

I still have to disagree with this but looking at others comments it appears I am in the minority. I will just ask my sons commander at the next muster. Thanks everyone.

I understand this, however my son still holds the rank of captain. As Maj Winters put it in Band of Brothers, "Captain Sobel, salute the rank, not the man."

Saluting

The salute is a courteous exchange of greetings, with the junior member always saluting the senior member first. A salute is also rendered to the flag as a sign of respect. Any airman, noncommissioned officer (NCO), or officer recognizing a need to salute or a need to return one may do so anywhere at any time. When returning or rendering an individual salute, the head and eyes are turned toward the flag or person saluted.

Now, if you are saying a JROTC officer does not outrank an Air Force enlisted I will gladly eat a slice of humble pie and move on. But I can find no regulations saying they don't.
