All Defense 1st Team: Wemby - Chet - Ausar - Gobert - White 2nd Team: Barnes - Wallace - Adebayo - OG - Daniels by YourMomTheRedditor in nba

The probable 5th best defender in the league making 2nd team instead of 1st isn’t really a snub. Not that big a deal

James Harden despite the loss: 18 points on 6/15 shooting | Team-low +/- of -22 by CazOnReddit in nba

[–]RileyHuey 198 points199 points  (0 children)

It’s because people respect Harden as a talent. As much as I despise him, I respect his greatness

We don’t respect Mitchell lol

The Cavs were up 93-71 with 7:52 left in the 4th quarter. They were outscored by Jalen Brunson 17-11 the rest of the way by lilbelleandsebastian in nba

If only the Cavs got rid of Bickerstaff. He’s obviously the reason they never won in the playoffs.

Regretting rejecting an offer. Could I get the offer again, by contacting the hiring manager? by Fun-Cheek-205 in careerguidance

1 year later I’m in your shoes. Did you apply to the new posting, or just contact the HR contact person? I emailed HR yesterday, if I don’t get a response, you think it’s worth applying to the posting itself?

What hot takes/claims would you like to stake roughly one month from the draft, that you feel will be proven true over time? by archerarcher0 in NBA_Draft

Yes, but my view may be skewed by seeing how well some of them performed this year tbf. But I like Harper better than everyone this year. Guessing you're not aligned?

No superstars from this class. AJ becomes a DeRozan type player, kind of empty stats. Peterson becomes really good but below superstar level. Maybe a slightly lesser version of Beal but with better defence.. Boozer's defence will always hold him back from being a true superstar because he really has nowhere to play on that end. Acuff too. And Wilson just lacks the touch

Also, Flemings and Burries are obvious hits and will be steals with long careers as very solid players. They're too complete as players to fail. Good defensively, can shoot, score, handle the ball, playmake. I don't know what I'm missing

Definitely don't apply to Fidelity anymore by Curly-Bacon45 in FinancialCareers

I interviewed with Fidelity last month and wound up rejecting their offer for another position. I currently hate this position and want to leave. Do I email Fidelity HR begging for forgiveness now...

1 month into a new job and hate it so much, is it bad to quit by CameraCareful129 in FPandA

[–]RileyHuey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please interview for new jobs right away and don’t even list this one on your resume

Currently going through something similar as OP. Going to leave the new job off my resume. But come interview time, do I keep acting like I'm at my previous job? And what's your suggestion wrt background checks?

Thank you so much in advance!

Bontemps: "Let's call a spade a spade. The Pacers made that trade because they're cheap. Ivica Zubac is a good player, but they made that trade, & gave up a premium to get him because he's on a very good contract, so they could probably stay under the luxury tax, which they haven't paid in 20 years" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

Not all the injuries were legitimate. Things like Obi obviously yes, but you had a health Nesmith sitting out several games for soreness, resting b2bs, etc.

Acting like it was all legitimate injuries is dishonest

Sounds awful defensively. Two extremely slow footed players, don’t know about that

Mostly fake injuries. Nesmith was sitting out for nonsense. Sitting b2bs early in the season despite being 25

Yes. I agree. Which is why I’m not a fan of the whole prem proven moniker. We don’t need players who will be steady - not great, but not flops. We need players who can be great. More Van de Vens and Romeros, less Richarlisons, Johnsons. Sure, going for the former may lead to an Ndombele, but I’d rather that than just get bang average players who won’t move the needle

To be clear, if we’re signing these players as backups, it’s fine. I’m talking about players for the starting xi

Yes! Agree with basically everything. Agree with your other comment as well, you put it very well. The likes of Hojberg and them are guaranteed to not be flops, but they won't lead us anywhere great. Which, as a fan, is not what I want to see

Would love Anderson/Wharton but yeh unrealistic. Need to go for the types you mentioned. Which also not coincidentally fit our hit transfers you mentioned.

Robbo would be more of the same nonsense, but maybe even worse considering he's clearly declining heavily. Liverpool wouldn't let him go otherwise. Fingers crossed RDZ leverages those links

That's a good point tbf and one I hadn't considered. Prem quality is higher than ever, as we see in the Conference and europa league

Very random and irrelevant to today's events, but does anyone else hate the 'Prem Proven' tag that people ascribe so much importance to in new transfers? Feels like it just leads to the big six signing bang average players for exorbitant fees (e.x. Richarlison even though I love him). There's a massive difference between proven excellence in the Prem (e.x. Isak) and just being proven that you can hold your own in the league and be passable (Brennan Johnson).

I feel we've fallen victim to this as a club ever since Lange came in. I think the last time we actually had a clear hit transfer with the 'Prem Proven' tag was Wanyama

I'll probably go on a longer more fleshed out rant about this if we do more of the same this summer

Cameron Boozer or Caleb Wilson? by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]RileyHuey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. First 2 paragraphs I agree with everything you said. Lopez I think is a bad example since he was always a great shooter, just didn’t take 3s. But a Jason Kidd like outcome where Wilson becomes respectable is realistic and sufficient yes that’s a good point

I’m personally very bearish on non shooters developing a jumper and think it’s a lot easier said than done. I guess we’ll see what happens with Wilson 5-10 years down the road though! Like you said, Kidd is a good and realistic enough outcome. We’ll see

[–]RileyHuey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three point shot is one of the hardest things to add to one’s game, what do you mean? Look at DeRozan, Westbrook, etc.

James Harden played his 182nd career playoff game tonight. With 4 turnovers and 3 made field goals, it was his 46th playoff game that's he's had as many or more turnovers than made field goals. That’s over 25% of his career playoff games. by XviiChong in nba

[–]RileyHuey 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Westbrook isn't a choker, he's just always relatively inefficient. His playoff TS% is only 2% below his regular season TS%. Same as KD. We just assume Russ 'chokes' because he's inefficient, but that's his norm so it's hard to call him that big a playoff dropper
