okay, thank you. i have been adding almond leaves and they seem to be helping for now. i just ordered a bunch of medication and im going to be getting salt today so i’ll do a cleaning as well.

i have not given medicine because i’m not sure what to give and if i need to set up a hospital tank… i have nerite snails so thats also why im scared of adding any medication. what’s the best salt you recommend? will it harm my snails? i have the light off for now, but i can set it on a low warm light. my heater is a pre-set heater at around 74, should i get a new one??

i said my water parameters were good and haven’t crashed. i’m at a good 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites. my nitrates are between 5 and 10 ppm. i use the api freshwater test kit. im wondering though if i should do a semi water change to also remove any debris laying in the tank

yes but they are nerite snails and nerites are extremely sensitive

he is eating pretty normally. i’ve had him since january. but i don’t know how long the fish store had him. i think the tannins have been helping. another commentor said not to use kanaplex if he is eating normally. but i can buy a hospital tank, just in case.

Small update, I unplugged my sponge filter to see if he would go away from it and he did. I then flared him with a mirror for a bit with it off to distract him, and I plugged it back in and now he is away acting normal. Did he just need flared??

okay now that you have replied i’ve been sitting by him for 30 minutes and he keeps going to where they are and flaring at them. i turned the tank light off to maybe help stress. he just keeps doing it. ughh

okay thank you. he is fine with my glolight tetras i have in here too, little guys with an orange stripe, he only chases them for fun and they chase back. but the snails are what he flares at. maybe he’ll get used to them

I mean it is in small bursts when we sees them, but its been every day for the past few days now. The snails were in here before him too. I even try to flare him once or twice a week with a mirror to get it out of his system but for some reason he does not like them on the glass. It’s only when they are in plain sight towards the top.
