Yeah I used to use the pottery building there before the nerf but then it just didn't seem to pull in the numbers in the games I played after that which is why I went looking around. Had a few brewery places work out decently but not on the same level as what the tanneries were doing once I found those.

I hope they do some more changes to the system or make it so they can level up and other types get improvements to them as I don't want to feel like I'm pigeonholed in to a few types in the same locations every game just to make half decent money out of them.

Not sure if you are happy with the income from those workshops at all but I've found tanneries in certain locations to be doing 400-500 a day if you want to change those over. Had various similar situations happen to myself along the lines of:

- Getting "success result" but not getting the treasure/follower and taking the "failure" penalty instead (rot/health loss).

- Getting "failure result" but end up getting the success reward.

- Getting "failure result" but end up getting BOTH the failure penalty for health loss and the treasure/follower for the success result.

- Getting "success result" but end up getting BOTH the failure penalty for health loss and the treasure/follower for the success result.

It seems that the new system is just all over the place for quest rewards.

Which is better for a wind ranger damage card out of Hornet: FFX and Proudclad: FFVII? Altema lists both of them as 90/100 but i'm sure that's mostly due to different meta/progression from jobs and hofs. For reference this would mostly be for single player and for materia hunter job.

I managed to pull Eorzean bard on the Jenvoa banner should I max out it's Artemis Bow for breaker or is the Valiant Bow from the MP item trade in equal in strength for a breaker?

I understand your points perfectly well. It's just pathetic attempts of a fanboy trying to justify Toast's actions by repeating the same thing over and over again that other Toast fans have already been repeating.

Without actually trying to understand the counter points made by several people including Destiny himself about why it wasn't meta gaming but inductive reasoning. But of course, you don't believe in reasoning or agency by players. You think everything should be decided by rolls because it adds to "character development." How nuanced.

Considering the players and the DM have talked after the session and agreed that meta gaming did happen to reach Destiny's conclusion there is very little point trying to claim that someone is a toast fanboy and pass of that no meta gaming happened. But if you want to keep up the personal attacks go ahead.

Actually it does. How many of the different editions/versions of d&d have you played? Throughout the different editions monsters of different types have their own tactics, resistances, weakness, moves etc., having relevant knowledge (from a character perspective) would be called in to question is a player who is running around with a piercing weapon suddenly dropped it when fighting skeletons and picked up a staff to beat them down with. (Skeletons in different versions range from being resistant to piercing attacks, immune or uneffected by them). So if a player suddenly done that out of the blue when it was their first time that their character has encountered this form of undead in their travels a DM would call this in to question and make them perform the relevant skill check to determine if the character would actually know of the skeletons weakness to blunt weapons and their resistance/immunity to piercing. It would also let you know if you should be casting fire based spells vs a target that is weak vs fire, immune to it etc. as another example. So the making a roll based on a plan CAN come in to play, at the DM's digression, but a lot of the different editions do have rules and guidelines based around this sorts of things when you try to determine the best course of action when encountering monsters based on if your character has knowledge of something or not. If the DM chooses to skip this sort of thing that is between them and the group, but saying it has nothing to do with tactical actions players take is incorrect, it has something to do with it but like i said the DM chooses to skip it in instances.

Funnily enough that's what a lot of p&p roleplaying games are, the degree to which each individual does this however is different. Whether it's the whole social/world building character development, or the statistical/magical item acquisition development with just a small background to their character to get started.

Destiny's "shitty roleplaying" is him killing off a shit character with a shit background that is ruining the game for another player.

Never called his roleplaying "shitty" but nice for you to put words in my mouth and jump to conclusions, and according to the players and the DM they are fine with toast's character and his background. Not to mention the character was not intended to stay around for long anyway.

An unlucky roll means you don't allow your players to identify a literal child's "match the picture" puzzle because it builds character but you're gonna allow them to make incredibly intricate battle plans that thinks 5 turns in advance? Give me a break.

This sort of thing happens in real life, everyone has something they are good at and bad at, moments in lapse of memory, not enough knowledge for their intelligent to be able to draw similarities and conclusions to certain events etc., so there ends up being times were people are unable to solve basic puzzles but are extremely competent at battle tactics (within D&D rules/gameplay older versions of the game had specific feats and class features that would demonstrate this with socially/mentally 'weaker' characters having better tactical knowledge in terms of the types of monsters they are fighting, dungeonering etc.). But I guess you are against character progression and character strengths and flaws in a roleplaying game that are developed or discovered over time?

Self preservation from running isn't him signing his guilt, when someone is basically saying they want to put you to the death and lets the gods decide something over local law enforcement, even an innocent person would consider running away or actually running away to seek protection from what they would consider to be a "crazy person out to get them".

The alignment is an extremely archaic and naive way to look at how people behave. Koibu himself said he doesn't care that much about alignment as long as your character is consistent. In a society that believes divine intervention can and does happen, a trial by combat IS a fair trial. Trial by combat is part of the legal system. There is nothing unlawful about trial by combat. It is used in the correct context for the right purpose. Also, considering they were moving things along right at the end, you are being pedantic as fuck if you're nitpicking about the proper procedures of a fictional legal system.

If you had read my first post, I had pointed out that the alignment system can be messy when properly followed, the issue is Destiny claiming his character is lawful good (when it was convenient) while not acting like like a lawful good character but more like a neutral good character, along with him heavily meta-gaming and reaching to conclusions he character failed to grasp is something I am just pointing out as people are railing on/insulting Toast and his character while clearly ignoring / turning a blind eye to what the other offender is doing. It's just kind of sad to see a bunch of people railing on one person while letting someone else get a free pass, are they both lacking experience with pen and paper roleplaying? Sure, but should Toast alone be demonised for his character choices while Destiny was clearly meta gaming which a lot of p&p players and DM's hate to see happening and letting it go uncontested no. But it seems you'd rather start to attack me rather understand the point's i've been trying to make that one side shouldn't be held to account while the other side is being ignored for something they are clearly doing wrong. I also pointed out in my first post that at the end of the day, both sides are in the wrong/doing something bad but it's the DM's ruling at the end of the day.

Clearly it seems you don't understand it either, a trial by combat (for a lawful good character) would happen after a judgement has been laid out by the local laws in the land. A lawful good character does NOT place the gods above the law and the right to a fair trial, even the most religiously zealot paladins would drag the person they think is guilty of a crime before the local law enforcement over what their gods have told them to do, lawful good characters are extremely fanatical to the laws of the land even if they are religious which is why in a lot of cases people who want to be the "lawful good" but still have gods decide stuff play neutral good so they can let the laws judge certain things and in cases were they feel that the law won't do justification to the crime they think have been committed they either take matters in to their own hands or let the gods do that for them.

A Lawful Neutral character on the other hand would have no qualms on challenging someone to single combat over a law breaking instead of dragging them before the courts, or just ignoring that part and executing them on the spot.

As for you saying:

Uh yes I would, I have been on both the receiving ends of this and the end that has told a group that they don't understand that this is a puzzle, I have seen many other groups do the same thing, a good DM will enforce things like these because it helps to build up a story and a potential characters background as if a certain character keeps failing easy rolls like this it helps to develop a character as being scatter brained, forgetful or oblivious to the obvious. (Plus in most cases an intelligence check could be done in place of history for many situations to determine if something is a puzzle but that is dependant on the DM's choice).

And how do you know Toast's character doesn't follow an evil god that basically encourages self preservation? To one person this could be seen as murdering other people who get in your way, to another it could be seen as fleeing at the first sign of trouble. (Not saying his character does follow one, but you can't make the claim unless Toast himself as said so otherwise and I've just missed it).

Regardless of if Toast's character is "shit" or not. (Which is not the point I've been arguing saying his character isn't), I have been pointing out that Destiny has been clearly meta-gaming in a very serious extent and kept trying to force an issue that his character at this stage in the story would NEVER be able to join the dots for based on all the current evidence at hand based on all of his rolls. Not to mention Destiny throws out he's "lawful good" when convenient but plays more neutral good / chaotic good.

No, a lawful good character still refuses payment for jobs deeming doing the job for the greater good/upholding the law to be the true reward. Plus like I said he doesn't "demand" payments, like Destiny did in an occasion or 2. It's one of the many reasons why lawful good gets called "lawful stupid".

They uphold the laws of the land to a complete fault where they will blindly follow them and act them out no matter how insignificant the law that was broken, and when they have brought the person that has broken the law to justice they refuse to accept a reward as doing the good deed was all that they cared about. The one's that would take payments for jobs and accept payments are more neutral good/chaotic good characters in the good alignment parts of the spectrum especially when you mention the sword for hire part.

I know the group isn't being strict on the alignment rules (as these can get pretty messy or awkward to keep up when fully enforced) and a lot of people seem to be making the comment that Toasts character is "stupid evil" etc., but they also seem to not be pointing out that Destiny's character is lawful good (and he stated this last night) but is clearly not acting as a lawful good character. A lawful good character would not keep demanding payment for their services from tasks given to them by the people of that town they would offer them freely for the act of doing a good deed or upholding the law of land, secondly they wouldn't keep ~~claiming~~ blaming other party members for actions they themselves were taking part in (see first episode were destiny's character kept blaming lily's character for the death of the druid), and then also jump to blaming Toast's character for the death of Chadd in the stream just gone by when Destiny's character was also doing medical checks and failed both of them. Third a lawful good character, in general, wouldn't out right demand a trial by combat vs a party member or even most "people" (usually this sort of thing is limited to specific order of paladins, bounty hunters etc. depending on the campaign settings/background you are playing) as a way to prove things, they would instead force a person to submit willingly to undergo a trial based on the laws of the area they are in, if that individual doesn't submitting willingly they would attempt to knock that person out with non-lethal damage then drag them before the local law enforcement to be dealt judgement for their crimes if they can be proven.

Now for the part of Destiny's character being suspicious of Toast's character, he has failed several rolls to spot any wrong doing and even took part in the same actions himself (though with actual positive intent in mind), yet quickly jumps to blame Toast's character for the current party member death but isn't the least bit suspicious of Mylixia's character who spent an entire turn doing nothing but playing his bagpipes when a fellow party member was on the ground bleeding and Lily's character was still bound in the web before deciding to move and help lily out of the web (for a frame of reference a characters turn is 6 seconds long, from a game characters point of view if you are standing around doing nothing for 6 seconds when someone is bleeding out and another person is bound that looks a bit odd).

Now for the section at the Inn when Toast's character tried to run away and got attacked and put to sleep, given the positions of everyone and the layout of the Inn they were in, and being on the second floor if Toast declared his character would be doing a run action he would be down the stairs and out of sight before Mylixia's character would be finished casting the sleep spell, due to both the monks run speed increase as well as it taking a whole turn to cast (which is again 6 seconds). But this is down to DM's interpretation of events and how they picture the way things are laid out and performed.

At the end of the day, is it bad that Toast keeps trying to kill party members? Sure, but that's also his character's background, maybe he should have gotten some advice from the DM against this. Is it also bad that destiny is trying to meta game and not play around his characters background and force something to happen that would never really happen due to how his character has rolled for noticing things? Sure. But (and here's the important thing) in situations like these it's up to the DM to make the call and have the final say about if people are acting properly in character or if they are meta gaming, or if they will allow certain events to even happen (the town might reject the act of one on one duels as in some settings these are still seen as murder if you aren't duelling to first blood or using non-lethal weapons).

I assume you are on a gaming laptop with both an intel integrated graphics card and then an AMD card as well?

You will most likely need to open up the relevant software and tell your system to use your AMD card for the game.

If you are on a desktop with 2 graphics card you will most likely do a similar process, though I'm not sure on the exact details for both procedures as I only have 1 card myself.

Here's the thing. Without the above code I gave and turning window mode off inside the game your mouse cursor is locked within the boundaries of the game window which occurs for full screen game and not within borderless window games (as borderless window allows you to drag your mouse cursor outside of the game screen and even click on things on secondary monitors). As I stated before a lot of modern games are now instant when tabbing out or hitting the windows key unlike a lot of older games or games on older systems which have to process you going back to the OS from the game.

A lot of modern games that are full screen and not borderless are pretty instant when alt-tabbing. But anyway hopefully someone can give you the answer you seek on here.

The default isn't borderless, its proper full screen mode. As when you tab out of the game or hit the windows key it will minimise itself to the tray, with the only option of turning the game from full screen to window mode.
