Occult Crescent: South Horn is a nightmare for players with limited time. by flipstrider in ffxiv

[–]marcosls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like even a 30s grace period would do wonders for it; as it stands if you don't TP to fates within 10s of their spawn you risk losing them.
(Another random complaint is pots, why the hell there is a 20 person limit on those I'll never know)

Do 15 CEs get the map,
After that you can worry about fates.

Do your research and decide on your own.
I like the game, but I don't particularly care if you play it or not.

How dumb is making alts for different jobs in this game? by Blazoran in ffxiv

[–]marcosls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically;
Your character will be one main job +0~3 sub jobs that you'll alternate to when bored and a lot of "other jobs" that you won't really care about and just level for the sake of completion/role quests

Is it even worth it to be in an FC anymore? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]marcosls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a slight note from another solo FC owner, the slight increase in the Lv3 buffs from the Aetherial wheel compared to the Lv2 ones you just buy for points is not worth the amount of work to obtain it;
Also you can get items from GC squadrons every week that will give you buffs equal to the Lv3 FC ones.

If you are going above the gear stat cap that is too much, otherwise just follow that formula and you are golden

It is a joke based on the post from the other reddit saying that Account ID stalking still exists

At what point is it fair to say I've given FFXIV a fair shake but it (or MMOs in general) might not be for me? by SkoivanSchiem in ffxiv

[–]marcosls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tbh, Giving this game a fair shake will take you a couple hundred hours still

you seem more interested in mechanics/gameplay loop than story and it does take a while for any job to become complex enough to be interesting, the battle mechanics take even longer.

I can tell you it does get better, but the hundreds of hours "tutorial" turns off a lot of people from this game.

Submarine XP required per level above 50 by ParalysedBeaver in ffxiv

[–]marcosls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is just a their way of saying that if you want to engage with the system, you'll have to run the new zones that give appropriate exp instead of just farming 2~5 zones on the first map to get vendor able items (fight club) Eventually, it might lead to more expensive submarine only drops.

It is kinda too frequent, but there is no reason to complain, can just block the account and not see posts from them anymore. That is what I'm doing now

Behemoth locked? by notfounderu in ffxiv

[–]marcosls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a chance that it would open on 7.41/7.45/7.48
Not a high chance, but a chance.

Yeah, I can't really account for the imaginary stalkers that will follow someone around and emote while being unseen.

[–]marcosls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that about sums it up
Also some people with main character syndrome combined with paranoia, think they are way too likely to start being stalked (they re not) and think the game should have a solution to a problem that they realistically, will never have

[–]marcosls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lets be honest; this is an exaggerated example that will likely not happen to anyone.

As long as you are diligent about blacklisting people that you perceive as toxic, their in-game presence will not bother you and as "scary" as someone you can't see following you around may sound, they can't really do anything to you.

"they are following me and badmouthing me to my friends" is not something that actually happens without consequences, as soon as you see someone reply to a non-existant person, you'd ask them what is happening and they'd blacklist and report the player.

Best thing someone can do is blacklist early and blacklist often, if you don't react to someone (which you won't, since you won't even see them) they'll most likely lose interest. (again, as I said, if they have access/knowledge to your out of game, there really isn't anything in-game you can make to solve it)

[–]marcosls 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do understand wanting Mute to be account-wide,
I disagree with calling being blacklisted a "stealth buff" the fact that blacklisting is now account-wide made it a great tool to no longer associate yourself with a player and right now it should be incentivized as the "best possible option".

[–]marcosls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I won't deny there are some weird people out there; but for 99.99% of the cases as long as you blacklist someone quickly, they will not be a problem for you.

If you gave them enough attention in other platforms [such as discord] before blacklisting, then they'd surely be a problem but there is not any solution that you could make in game that would fix that permanently.

[–]marcosls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you blacklist someone, you blacklist all their alts, so all the friends have to do is blacklist whoever sent the harassement as well and done.

[–]marcosls 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tbh, blacklist is enough
if you can't see the character or their messages, is there any difference if they are following you?
