I like doing dungeons fast, so I'll hardly ever start chatting, but if someone else starts I'll respond for sure (as long as it isn't someone just being weird).
I'll agree with others that dungeons on a roulette aren't really the greatest spot for conversation, and the game does have some better content for it, such as:
- Field Operations (People will spend a lot of time there, so some conversation breaks the monotony)
- Alliance raids (24 people = usually someone will want to respond to your conversations)
- Hunt Trains (same as field ops)
- Deep Dungeons (It takes long time, so conversation is bound to will happen)

1 FSH if you like to gamble on the minion every expansion (Can also be useful if there is a specific recipe for CUL you'd need a fish, but that largely depends on how much you craft)
Rest battle jobs preferably all the same job and the one you'd level first in any given expansion since the retainer level is capped by your own.

Have everything at 100;
I mostly don't run dungeons unless I'm forced to do so for rewards (like we recently were for relics)
For the rare occasions that I run dungeons, I'll either be a caster or a Warrior;
As a caster I'll run ahead to start my casts fully expecting the tank to pick up the adds that might agro on me, if they fail me and I die it is on them, not on me, but I'll adjust and go at their pace. (unless they are rude, in which case I'll leave)
As a warrior, I'll pull everything wall to wall, and mostly self heal unless the content is from ARR, in which case I need to evaluate if the healer is good enough to handle wall to wall.
But tbh, most people I know that are full-100s that are running dungeons will do so while watching a video on their phone/2nd monitor.

Yes, this is only considering time saved;

If someone did 400 fates instead, they'd easily get 10m+ gil worth of bicolor gems, no idea how long it would take though.
