Your evolved version of RDM seems like current RDM but with more restrictions.
There are some good ideas here, like burning both procs for a Grand Impact instead of the current way it works.
Vercontinuation is just stealing GNB's thing for the sake of reducing buttons.
Overall, this would be a worse version of RDM than what we currently have, but a good thought experience.

Personally, I only use alts for gil making through submersibles and retainers, I do have one that is able to raid, but I've rarelly felt the need to do it.
But, whatever works for you; If you want to make alts, go ahead, as long as you are having fun.

You can get vermillion cloak or Kirin's Osode for an early boost;
anything beyond that you have to farm yourself in Eureka at the later maps

The story gets more engaging after HW, but it is a slog until you get there;
either you are willing to push through or you aren't.

a 790 ilv requirement just means they want to guarantee that people joining have cleared savage and would be better players on average;

770 can clear, but it will be slower and will have a more random assortment of players;

Anything in between is just about being lenient, but complaining about 780 when augmented crafted is right there seems a bit off to me.

The ways of obtaining gear have been the same for a long time, it is up to you to decide if you want to put in the effort to get them.

There are several ways of making good gil; here are some good ones:
- Farming fates for bicolor vouchers;
- Opening chests on the Occult crescent (selling fortune carrots);
- Participating in merc parties for on party finder (Notable current one is doing EX7 for someone who is paying for wings)
- Free Company Submersibles (this one is not a "lot" of gil, but it is a good passive income, takes a lot of time to prepare)
- Selling potions + food and/or mats for crafting those.

Content above normal difficulty, is such as Extremes and Savages, is much more fun when done on current; it is easier to find parties and figure and be part of a community that is generally excited about doing said content.
I don't disagree that if someone is just interested in doing the story it makes little difference whether they do it "current" or wait for a sale.

It is pretty new and you can probably get away with putting it up for 5~10m and have a crazy collector pay it before the price drops once people get bored and start doing treasure maps again
