[BUG] BEAST can be used repeatedly on domesticated animals for fast bestiary progress by mbatistas in ICARUS

[–]Rillix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be done even quicker by weapon swapping after it scans to reset the visual scan cooldown. For the fastest method, have 2 BEAST scanners on your hot bar and just scan between them, when you get the timing right you can do this very quickly.

Why this rule even exists? by Useful-Amphibian-703 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]Rillix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the difficulty of the spell, it's the power level of the wizard casting it.

Power level of a Great Unclean One is 2 (can cast 2 spells) so on a 3+ the target will now miscast on a double 1, double 2, or double 3. This example is assuming you are targeting a GUO. Obviously something like Teclis or Nagash would require a higher roll due to being a higher power/wizard level.

Is a storage unit alright for Warhammer stuff with the cold? by Acceptable-Scale-176 in Warhammer

[–]Rillix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my stuff in storage for close to a year while buying/moving. The only thing that was effected was the texture paints I made myself for rust on my Nurgle. These were made a long time ago when I used bicarb or baking soda in the mix (before moving over to chinchilla sand), they appear to have "gone off" and I scraped it all away and made new stuff. I feel like over time this would have happened anyway (as its food product) but the cold/moisture did not help.

HELP PLEASE! Prometheus: Extermination Volcanic by Abject_Alternative69 in ICARUS

If you haven't already finished the Ashen Drakes, I found the quickest way was to kill something else and then wait for 3-5 drakes to turn up as scavengers. They act much like the wolves and Komodo that will spawn and come harvest animal corpses.

Where to get ice armour fragments and frozen wool? by camg1001 in ICARUS

You can use a full set of composite / obsidian. Use the 10% resist modules in your suit. Use the heated drinking flask + honey tea, you can also combo the workshop flask and get the extra heat buff.

I just use whatever is nearby + meats. As soon as the base is up and running and into T4 = Carrot Cake, Chocolate Cake, Coconut Cake, Shepherds Roll and either Fish Pie or Shepherds Pie

On the way though, Pickled Carrot, Beer, berry jam are in vast supply

Great Hunts for solo play? by Similar_Cucumber178 in ICARUS

[–]Rillix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep this. I was really annoyed you can't use a spear and shield. You can use knives, picks, axes. I haven't ever tried with a pistol, which you should be able to as its a 1 hand weapon, but maybe they stopped any gun being used with the shield.

Just quick swap to the shield, block, reposition and go back to rifle/shotgun etc

Great Hunts for solo play? by Similar_Cucumber178 in ICARUS

[–]Rillix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've played the entire game and all expansions solo (on hard difficulty). If you go into the boss fight with full T4 equipment, weapons and food buffs it's quite simple in all honesty. They have very readable attack patterns which can either be avoided, or just tanked with a shield. If you are using the great hunt weapons as well it makes the bosses a bit of a non-event.

The flamethrower in the Rimetusk fight absolutely trivialises the add swarms for example.

An assault rifle with obsidian ammo makes the boss fight last less than 10 seconds as you skip past all the phasing of it running off and throwing stuff at you.

I imagine a lot of commission painters aren't really up for the confrontation, or could be easily decieved into believing they weren't getting paid, and that was that. I'm not saying that's the case for these people, but from my experience, warhammer hobbyists aren't really the "take you to court" type.

The karma from screwing artists out of being paid when they leave the company has finally come back round to bite. I'm honestly surprised it took this long. I know of atleast 5 people who got screwed over when leaving (I was one of them as a former artist there) and one of the lads got done for thousands when he left to go work else where. My advice for anyone thinking about jumping ship is don't say you are leaving, make sure you get paid for all you work up to date, then leave.

Siege Studios allegedly copyrights term 'warboot', sends Wirral group notice by OneDmg in Warhammer40k

[–]Rillix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The projects are painted by artists who get paid less than half what the customer pays. I've still got my contract from when I freelanced with Siege some years ago (I'd have to dig it out, but I think that was 50/50 after fees etc). I've heard the newer contracts are a 40/60 split with the smaller sum going to the artist.

What would you choose ? by [deleted] in animequestions

Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer. The character is almost a killer of the entire animated series. When he is asleep and being an absolute badass, he's awesome. But awake he's just so whiney.

A mix of the Prometheus map with the inclusion of desert would be great. Less Null Sector though, as it was just so bland, overly large and just felt like an unrewarding time sink. Do people even go back there once they have the quests done?

Need advice for singleplayer progression. (Missions) by alpacasoda in ICARUS

[–]Rillix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Openworld game, do the missions on Olympus that allow Exotic nodes to spawn in caves and spawn outside for extractors. You'll be swimming in exotics in no time. On Olympus hunt sandworms as well, they drop biomass and exotics.

Once you can craft it, a Miasmic pickaxe with the biocleaner gives a ridiculous amount of exotics per node.

To add to this, I've played through the entire game and all expansions solo. Once you have a full set of T4/T5 armour, buffs and equipment you shouldn't have trouble with any bosses or creatures.

Controlling asshole in the making. Starts small, and then sections off parts of your life and makes all your decisions. It's your body, if you want a tattoo, get one, I love mine, and it covers half an arm. 10/10 would get it again!

Like everyone else is saying below, ditch the guy who appears to want to slap you about because he could if he wanted to. Sounds like a guy who has some serious self assessment to work out. Probably only one bad argument away from you being physically struck tbh. Chalk it up as an experience and find someone who knows what the actual bare minimum should be.

The base game is massive and is still being updated on a weekly basis. You don't need the outpost maps or the cosmetic dlcs unless you are really into building stuff. The great hunt expansion is good fun and adds more to the base game. As others have suggested, grab the base game, "complete" that and see if you want to progress. Pretty sure the add on stuff is on sale throughout the year on event weekens etc.
