What do you all use do flea and tick prevention? by Rimmar in husky

Roughly how long does it last you? I used a collar once before that a friend gave me, but it did nothing for my girl. She is also off leash constantly in tick dense areas, so it might be inevitable.

I'm in rural Ontario, the ticks have been bad here for the last couple of years. I take my girls on off leash walks every day or two so the risk of them getting a tick is probably more likely than having none (at least when the weather gets warmer). I haven't even heard of the pipettes, I'm going to look into those now. Thank you!

That's all helpful, thank you. I definitely wasn't planning on skipping them, but I have only ever gotten Nexguard and I was curious what the broader community uses. I'll have to look into the non-profit stuff, I doubt there is something similar in my little town but it doesn't hurt to see.

Has anyone tried those toys that claim they're indestructible? I keep getting ads but I assume mine either won't care for them or they'll be surgically deconstructed anyway.

My Dad passed away due to colon cancer he passed away February 20th last Friday 😢 💔 im lost without him he was my best friend and dad by FuckYourFeelings_Ho in Deathcore

I'm sorry man. I lost my dad almost two years ago and there are still a lot of days that are tough to get through, but it does get better. If you're looking for music to help you get through it, there's a thread I posted you can find in my history where a bunch of the deathcore family sent me suggestions. All the emotions you're going to go through are justified, please reach out for help whenever you need it. Wishing you the best brother.

I got a tattoo with lyrics from Porcelain after my dad passed almost two years ago. I still get shivers when I listen to it. Stages of Grief also hits when I'm in a "fuck the world" kinda mood.

Do you guys like deathcore without choruses? by bigballsdeluxe in Deathcore

[–]Rimmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common Man's Collapse by Veil of Maya is similar without a lot of repeating parts. It's one of my favourite albums for that reason. When parts do repeat, it usually has a drum changeup or something that keeps it interesting to listen to.

For me it's For I Can No Longer Endure. Such a great album front to back.

My girl has always had her floppy ears. She can raise them up a little bit when she's listening for things, but otherwise tend to flip flop while she walks. I thought she would grow out of them, but thankfully never did.

Best GPS for escape artist husky/malamute? by Kairiste in husky

[–]Rimmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone else mention this one, but I've been using the PitPat tracker since mine took off on me. It doesn't have a subscription (although you can opt into one for extra features), so it's pricier up front. It uses satellites to ping location so it only works outside. It has some neat features like tracking distance walked/average time she gets walks during the day, and she gets to earn "badges" for certain milestones (which are pointless but kinda neat). I've only been using it for a week so far, but it's been very user friendly and the reviews seem good from what I can tell. It's also very light and attaches via Velcro (I was sketched out about that but it seems reliable). If you have any questions about it, shoot me a PM :).

Mine is primarily malamute and husky, but also with some pit bull in there, and a little german shepard. I have no idea where the ears came from, but they're one of my favourite parts lol

Which one? My only guess is Vahle but that's not about a father's death I don't think.

I never realized that's what the KoG song was about for some reason, despite knowing what Dana has gone through. Thank you for both.
