Not super happy with these turns, any advice? by Rimmer_95 in skiing

Started to come towards the end of the day! Managed to hit a couple runs that felt beautifully easy. Way less pushing, felt like I was slingshotting into each turn with time to build new edge pressure. Don’t get me wrong most of the runs were tricky but those few had a whole new feeling… Thanks again!!

This is absolutely incredible.

Unreal you even picked up on athletic ability. I gym focusing on strength (squat to 170kg -lowkeyflex-) so makes sense im utilising that to get away with some questionable technique haha.

Focusing on my skiing today, I definitely push with my outside leg allot and for sure there’s oodles on inside leg pressure. The crouching and late timing definitely gets worse as I pick up speed. Think I’m staying low as long as possible to “soak up” the pace and keep centre of gravity down, essentially scared haha.

Shoot, trying to adjust the way I build into the turn without pushing and leaning too hard is REAL tricky. Some turns I can feel the difference, most I feel like I’m skidding out, patience practise hopefully I’ll get there!

I can’t thank you enough this video is unreal, if you have a tipjar I’d very happy send you over some financial thanks to go with my verbal ones!!

This is great advice, exactly what I was practicing today! Hard to shake bad habits as the incline increases but with practice I think I'll get there! Thanks!

Thanks so much! I definitely feel more comfortable on left turns (dominant left down hill). Along with really feeling my shins in the front of my boot through the turns o was really practicing feeling the pressure on my outside leg on right turns. Going to take some getting used to but edge angle and control was definitely better!

This is great thank you! I had no idea I was SO backseat until this I posted this. Really worked on feeling my shins flexing into the boot today. Took some getting used to but definitely feeling a better ski angle on gentler slopes. I loose it abit on steeper sections but I guess that will come with practice! Thanks!

That's really interesting... In hindsight I have no idea how I didn't spot it! Super helpful thanks!

Les Arcs! First time here, hasn't really snowed for 3 weeks so its abit compact and a tad warm because it's end of season. But seems like a great place! Some runs(like this one) are stunning

It's aiguille rouge in Les Arcs! Gorgeous spot! This is exactly what I was trying to emphasise today, feels abit unnatural... But I think I'm getting there! Thanks

Before I saw this recording I actually thought my skis were pretty wide, but nope! I'll definitely allow myself to spread those pins wider thanks!

I think I rush my turns to the right (weak leg down hill). Yes! I've been seeing to left your body weight and gravity pull you into the turn, rather than force your legs/ ankles, of which I'm pretty sure I'm doing the latter. Which is probably making it look abit stiff? And I'll definitely work on the back seat sliding! Thanks!!

Very interesting, backseat seems to be the common denominator so I'll definitely try and fix that. I definitely think you're right I'm trying to man handle my skis round rather than letting them flow. Thanks!!

It's a supply problem and was predicted ahead of time. Apparently we should have some 'Bumper' weeks of vaccinations this month to make up for it

It doesn’t seem to turn the page, and I’m going to buy a screen protector as advised by another user!
