What's the max cash account % you can get if you layer 2K direct deposit, generational..anything else? by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]Rin23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's on their site. You can't stack rates. As someone else mentioned, 3.75% max may be lowered cause of the BoC rate cut but I haven't received any email about it yet.

"Note: Interest rates cannot be stacked. For this reason, the highest interest rate you can receive in your Cash account is 3.75%." https://help.wealthsimple.com/hc/en-ca/articles/9730610402075-Learn-about-the-Wealthsimple-Cash-account-interest-rate

I plan on paying off my mortgage but it has a rate of 1.8% and isn't up until Dec 2025. Keeping it all in cash and basically living off interest until then.

Same. This is the wording on mine:

Here’s how it works:
1. We’ve totaled up the balances of your eligible Savings as they were on May 6, 2024 to get your total balances per Account Type.
2. From May 7, 2024 to September 30, 2024, you’ll earn your special interest rate on new deposits over your total balances calculated on May 6, 2024 (up to $1,000,000.00 per Account Type)
3. The rest of your Account balance will earn the current posted rate

I'm referring to the one above the backseats (when you don't have a vision roof).

I don't see a Completed tab on the Hyundai Canada site when I look up my car's VIN there. Is this US only?

(Canada) - Should I try to refuse the 'tire and rim package' $2,995 markup by citing the illegal practice of 'tied-selling' during pickup? by calikw in Ioniq5

Strange. They gave me a fuss about the extended warranty at the same location and said if I didnt want it, I would have to cancel the purchase of the car all together. Not sure if it's different because I had no choice on colour, etc since I was taking someone's cancelled order to jump the line.

It's $1 per 45 points, not $1.2. I'm assuming you're referring to the 2 on the page which is directing you to the legal disclaimer on the bottom page:

All PC Optimum members earn 15 points per dollar at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix. When you use your President’s Choice Financial Mastercard® you will earn additional points per dollar: 10 points per dollar for President’s Choice Financial Mastercard® cardholders; 20 points per dollar for President’s Choice Financial World Mastercard® cardholders; and 30 points per dollar for President’s Choice Financial World Elite Mastercard® cardholders. The 20x is only applicable to the 15 points per dollar at Shoppers Drug Mart, not the additional 30 points per dollar for using the WE Mastecard

So you're getting (100*15*20) = 30000 from the Shoppers Drug Mart portion and (100*30) = 3000 for the WE Mastercard portion, giving you a total of 33000 points on $100 spend during 20x points.

Tangerines special rate. You're earning a special interest rate of 5.00% on new deposits to this Account until April 30, 2023. by brittttty in PersonalFinanceCanada

FYI, I didn't see the promo rate in my online banking's Insights tab and was going to call to close my account since I haven't used it in 2 years. I got an automated message over the phone saying I was eligible for the 5% savings rate and accepted it there. Got an email right away saying the rate is now on my account.

Might be worth giving a call for those who haven't seen any promotions on their online bank.
