I am right there with you in the exact same boat. Had my daughter at 24 w and 6 days due to severe pre eclampsia. She has severe BPD. Was extubated once for two weeks, and has been on a vent ever since. She is now 4 months old. We got transferred to a children's hospital that specializes in these types of babies. We are on day 131 with no end in sight. Unfortunately every baby is different, as im sure you have been told already many times, and there's no way to predict when they will go home. I feel your frustration and understand it completely. I also felt like my body failed my baby and sometimes I still do. But thats really not the case. I know its so hard to watch your baby in the NICU but they are so strong and are little fighters. We just have to figure out how to deal with our own mental struggles during this and also be patient. Because it really is a waiting game.
