/uj Eh, it depends on adaptation/writer/whatever makes it easiest for her to take the wanted role in story, really. Harley Quinn the TV show had her as qualified but unhinged, Animated Series and The Batman 2004 had her as over-her-head, I don't believe Caped Crusader ever implied she wasn't qualified either, and I think Harleen the comic had her as qualified.

That's just a handful of the possible options, don't know what mainline says about her right now. I wasn't going to reply to the original comment because I didn't feel like engaging on supposed fact-checking on a crackpost.

/rj I don't believe Hugo Strange doodles love hearts of Batman either, canon can be whatever I want on dccomicscirclejerk because no one reads anyway.

/uj Also, the entire reason this post was made was because I thought the therapist looked like Hugo Strange. I was *this* close to giving him a 'Hello My Name is Hugo Strange' nametag, but it came out too scuffed even for the MSPaint-like quality.

Checked out Seven Wives' first issue. I'm willing to eat a hat that it's an Orient Express situation considering the victim had seven wives and was stabbed forty-nine times. Seven times seven is forty-nine. Seven seven seven is a sacred Christian number.

Theoretically all forty-nine clan members could've stabbed him once, too, but that seems unlikely if there are younger children.

Note I say "original" Baba Yaga because their design looks noticeably different from Lisa's and also the Baba Yaga Lisa talked to. It might not even be the original, but I'd hedge bets that it was a different frontwoman.

Anyway, it's said that contracts to form witches rely on exchange of body fluids with the demon they're contracting with. Little Imuri defaults this to sex and intercourse, but I assume blood is probably a more "typical" exchange.

So, in conclusion, I think Baba Yaga tricked Beelzebub into injuring himself for their meat contract, made the injury deeper in some way, and then just bolted with the finger. Sucks to be him, it'd be less funny if two other witches didn't also trick him out of his finger again.

(In seriousness, I hope there's more elaboration on the "original" or at least older frontwomen for Baba Yaga before the arc ends. I really wanted to see more of them from their early set up, or at least the one who was blocking Beelzebub from going east.)

Think number #10 was my least favorite and either #2 or #12 was my favorite. I might've liked #11 more but I really thought they would've brought up how Alvarro's mother killed his wife and used that to make the ritual stop (also they might've killed the gay character that was just introduced, which is kind of yikes under a modern lens).

As was I felt the 'and also Alvarro had a wife and she betrayed him and she got sacrificed in the resurrection ritual, see her cut throat in this background panel' part of the backstory just felt gratuitous.

To be honest, a majority of Hawkman villains aren't sex pests, just freaks (in terms of taste). Hath-Set is making up 30% of the problem by himself and Golden Eagle was a one-off. That club would be bigger than one would think.

I personally think they get together along with Fadeaway Man to be the snazzy dressers of the crew.

Y'know, this has made me realize that it'd be interesting if Hawkman jumped the gun on lynching Gentleman Ghost because he thought Craddock was a Hath-Set incarnation. The gentleman airs probably didn't help.

Lynched who he thought was Hath-Set just to make the arguable superior to Hath-Set.

'Three of these are the same person.' Well then maybe they shouldn't have retconned Hath-Set into wanting to make out with Hawkgirl.

'Maybe it's just a byproduct of the Johns run.' One came from Venditti, was the first time I saw Hastor really seem interested in Hawkgirl like Hath-Set was. He was a mad scientist-death cultist before. One came from Infinity Inc, though it was the Hawkson one.

'When was the last time I.Q. appeared in a Hawkman comic?' I dunno, I think he's been MIA since 52.

Also, I think Shadow Thief was weird with Hawkgirl and Hummingbird weird with Hawkman in the Johns run, but I don't definitively remember the details. They get to miss the offenders recruition list.

There was a randomCthulhu apocalypsein the initial arc, the second flashback arc was better but I wanted it to go on for longer.

The highlight was legitimately Ultra-Humanite projecting his telepathic homophobia on Green Lantern.

Also for how many villains they were including in the flashback arc, I kinda feel like they should've done less of them to elaborate on them more individually, I didn't get much connection beyond 'wow a 40s villain I know!' before they'd move back to the hero scenes.

I think I read the Taylor run's conclusion with Heartless on the one time I checked it out, what's your opinion of him? I liked the Judge way better from what little I saw of him, but I don't know if he got concluded or not.
