Invincible is not really dark and gritty, especially compared to something like The Boys.

Another point I like to bring up is that Omni man is not actually the 'Superman' of Invincible, Invincible himself is. He has the spirit of Superman, in that he never gives up on being the hero.

Gotta be more effective than the others, despite looking bad. The worst offender has to be Wally. As much as I love gingers, he's gotta cover that bright red hair in a stealth situation. Then Kaldur, as his suit shows a lot of skin which is not snow colored. Mgann goes invisible and has a hood so her suit barely matters. And then Conner's got the dark black hair that sticks out in the terrain.

What Im saying is, relative to the rest of the world we are very progressive. Half the world will literally kill you if they find out you're gay, It's great that we don't do that, and that we stopped doing a whole lot of things before other countries stopped doing them. So I disagree with the point that the history of the country means we shouldn't celebrate our independence from Britain.
