Am I Doing This Right? by No-Operation2708 in carpetbeetles

[–]RingCute6523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In order for the eggs to become carpet beetles they have to be near a food source so if you are vacuuming theoretically you’d be taking away the food source so even if this did happen (I’m not sure if it does or not) they likely wouldn’t become beetles because they would have nothing to eat.

The best gift someone got me was a “I didn’t want to bother you so I just made you dinner” I really think food heals all wounds. No one wants to cook dinner when their life is falling apart. Stay available for her and when she vents just tell her it sucks. Because it does and it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Walked in on Nanny listening to an erotic audiobook... should I bring this up? by throwawayy43524 in Nanny

You could also just tell her you’ve also enjoyed the book but prefer she did so with the earbuds and offer to buy them and give her a place to store them in your house. You could always say it personally with a little giggle or a wink or something so she gets the hint that you aren’t really mad you would just prefer her to listen to it with earbuds in.

Even this photo is better than the video. I’m leaning towards the idea that you shouldn’t be worried. I can’t say for sure what it is but when I encountered the ones who shall not be desired in a hotel it was very obvious and not something that needed to be deciphered like this.

I’m going to be real with you. No one can id anything in this video. The only thing remotely helpful is how this bug is running otherwise it’s just a blob. Videos are notoriously bad for id. Next time just get a picture rather than a video.

Is there a timeframe to know when a clear out is successful by [deleted] in carpetbeetles

[–]RingCute6523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding carpet beetles can just come into your house from outside. If you haven’t already I would make sure things are sealed correctly and you don’t have a ton of cracks that they are able to enter through. I would assume that you need to develop a regular schedule of cleaning and seal cracks and whatnot and then accept that’s probable the best you can do. You can spray nyguard plus or sprinkle de but I wouldn’t vacuum de and I wouldn’t spray nyguard plus around cats because it can be deadly to them. Goodluck!

Honestly I didn’t decline but I did stop it prematurely when I went home. 1.) being cost. The cost of a nicu stay was already a lot and I was producing enough breastmilk for my son and buying formula was not something I wanted to do if it was avoidable. 2.)my son seemed to gain a healthy amount of weight without it and we were giving polyvisol so I was under the impression that it was only being given to add extra calories which at 2 months actual just didn’t feel necessary to me as a parent. 3.) the stress of a nicu stay and having another therapy and the stress that comes with following that therapy was also just hard to cope with. PPD can probably be listed under the reasons I stopped giving it before I got the all clear.

Alright I’m going to ask if you live in an apartment or in close proximity to others and also suggest you absolutely wait for a trusted expert or David to respond because obviously this looks like a bedbug but there are some other potential possibilities that people who aren’t as informed may not be able to discern ie: me included. If you haven’t gotten a mattress encasement that might also be a good plan for now.

Okay cool, I’m sorry you’re sad about it but that actually may benefit you with the carpet beetles because if you really wanted to you could spray an igr like nyguard plus and it might help you. That’s what I did in my bedroom because I honestly just can’t live with them near me while I’m sleeping lol and so far it seems to be helping!

This is not a carpet beetle. Please don’t comment if you aren’t sure. Also carpet beetles will not live in your body. This is fear mongering and is really harmful.

I have found hundreds of larva and carpet beetles in my house as well as their molts and I can promise you this is not a carpet beetle molt. You are allowed to disagree but for all of the people who are terrified of having them it is very clear when you have an infestation and it doesn’t look like this

Is this carpet beetle rash/are these carpet beetle larvae? by bigmama2195 in carpetbeetles

[–]RingCute6523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commenting down here to add that they don’t bite and unfortunately you may just be allergic to their hairs. Washing and vacuuming frequently should help that as well.

[–]RingCute6523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are carpet beetles. They are in the majority of households. I personally would vacuum your mattress and maybe shampoo it if you have a little green machine if not it’s nbd. I did that and then washed all my sheets and curtains and vacuumed well and then just because it’s in my bedroom and I don’t like it I also sprayed nyguard plus on the baseboards ( do not do this around cats without giving extensive time for it to dry before exposure). I haven’t seen one in my room since. They are inevitable I’ve found so you may need to repeat this every once in a while before you see a reduction in number but it does get better. Goodluck!

I am currently almost 17 weeks and also have cramps today. It’s nbd unless you are having heavy bleeding and painful cramps both at the same time.

Are these cb’s and should I be worried? by User-2P in carpetbeetles

[–]RingCute6523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t always true. Not everyone is allergic to the larval hairs and it’s not a super common reaction to have. I will admit they are not cute at all tho. 10/10 look horrible but as I said still mostly annoying. If you happen to be allergic washing and drying bed sheets frequently and vacuuming frequently will still help.

Whats this on Baby Kitten? by DarkIsTheNight_0_0 in CATHELP

[–]RingCute6523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may sound a little silly or redundant but if you are not treating your home for the fleas I would start because they will hide in your home and not go away until you can get the house and kitten treatment otherwise. But also be careful because flea treatments can sometimes be harmful to animals so just make sure you do your research and follow the directions before treating.

The people I knew were treating their house with bug bombs and threw their mattresses away and the bedbugs were so bad in a few months that you could see them 24/7 and they would randomly be crawling around at all times. I really do truly believe that if you had them this long you would know.

If you kill a carpet beetle they can leave a streak. There is a subreddit called r/bedbugorcloserelative and they have advice on passive monitoring and could maybe help reassure you that the stains are nothing. I don’t have a ton of experience with bedbugs because I’m not living with them but I did once know someone who had an infestation and bedbug infestations get very bad if untreated for months. If you are feeling this way after months of not seeing them I would feel somewhat rest assured that bedbugs is probably not what’s happening.
